Well the title gives it away it happened to me onece that my Python was gone
missing so i checked my log "Python destroyed" i was thinking literally
WTF ? no Xenon Cap ship will fly around so a M2 shouldn`t fear anything but some
Khaak and even then i should get a warning .
Well i jumped in the sector where it happend to find a Xenon Q and some Ps.
Well i explained that to me that the python had no attack command and reloaded .
After a while it started over but this time i was in the sector took the Q out np.
Then i jumped away leaving the Python with the "kill all enimies" command .
And 10 min later i found a log entry Python destroyed i jumped in to find a Q.
*grml*
that can't be a Q can't take out an fully armed M2 !

Enter the Tyr, best sector patrol, sector attack, coffe maker and laundry washer all in one

Personally I think the Q's are a bit overpowered in OOS fights. So far I have lost several M7 and M2 to them and even the Tyr doesn't seem to help always. Usually a Tyr survives a single fight against a Q (OOS) but the next wave of Xenon ships arrives before the shields have fully recovered. And if you are unlucky like I was and there are 4(!) Q's in a sector then you hopefully have saved some money for a new one. At the moment I let the Tyr patrol in pairs, this seems to minimize the losses.
Best Regards,
Giso
The problems relating to the Q are being looked into atm.
We agree that someting is up so they will be rebalanced one way or the other for the next patch
I have been watching a lot of OOS battles, and twice now have seen a fully tooled up Tyr destoyed by Carrack raiding groups (Carrack + 2 Mauruders and up to 12 M3's), a battle that I would win very quickly if piloting myself in sector. My observation is that if the Carrack gets the first hit, the Tyr looses roughly 50% shields, the Carrack dies on the next round and the Tyr has enough shields left to survive against the remaining escorts. Occasionally though, the Tyr hits an escort instead of the M7, which means that the Carrack gets a second shot which is either fatal or weakens it so much that the escorts can finish it off. I suppose the moral is that M2's need escorts OOS, but I suspect that most players would expect the M2 to win most of the time. I am not certain that nerfing the M7's is the way to go, is it possible that the changes to weapons damage and fire rates are leading to some "odd" OOS results (I have also observed that MM6's do better OOS than their raw figures would suggest).

I will make a few tests with a modified Q version , as well as a few others M7's , both IS and OOS... But so far , Q needs nerfing.
Hi folks,
I would like to know in conrete what the reason for the overpowered Xenon Q is in order to fix it on my own temprally if possible.
The game is partially unplayable since one Xenon Q is nearly invulnerable.
Currently I have place an modified OWP on each gates where Xenon Q's appears. I have spend 10*10GJ shields and 500 "Donnerschlag" Missles and I have recognized that two Xenon Q's be able to wipe out an OWP in an few seconds.
How can I temper this behavior temporally (via edit some files e.g. TShips...)?
Bye

We are planning to release a fix soon that will make the Q's a bit less agressive and will revert to the old weapon settings to stop reports like this. So if you can wait a bit...

xenon Q's were powerfull but they were easy to own in an MM6 Centaur

IS, but not OOS. That's the main issue we have with them. Plus, under AI it's a lot harder to keep any ship alive against a Q.

yeah, even IS it can be tricky to kill it because that ships has NO blindspot, what so ever, just when i think i find one im getting spamed by PBE and BPPC fire :furious: :furious:

It has a blind spot in the lower back , but it's very hard to use it. I ussually launch a couple of thunderbolts/typhoons to lower it's shield and then attack head on with my Reaper. 12 BHept vs it... no survival chance.

I have no had any trouble with Xenon Q's fighting manually. They are fast and require some tricky moves but as long as they don't sneak up on you and catch you unaware (ie while taking out a xenon K)...

well the M7 ships can recharge their shilds faster then any of the other M2(except the pheonix) because they have 3/4GJ of shilds <br />
and an M7 with 3 GJ will recharge way faster than a Titan or any...

Actually is 8 minutes , not 15. But yes , they do recharge faster , but at a acceptable rate.

8 min compared to one hour at a python :o

Or with 30 seconds on my Poseidon if you use the remote transporter device... I keep 2 full shield packs on a support ship , and I can transport them with full strenght on-board.

I must add in my views about this - I just saw a Q doing the space runble with 2 zeue ships that I had scripted in - the Q survived - is this what I'm going to have to expect when I can afford one a battle ship or are 'scripted' vessels just rubbish?

Actually scripted vessels are likely to have a lower fight skill, depending on the script that's created them.
