I need suggestions and input on what to make for the .6C trailer.
What also would be realy nice is some of those movie-trailer one-liners which 'voices' speak to capture the essence of a film.
Plz give some feedback on this cause it's kind of a limited item.
Also, plz keep in mind the trailer is an excellent method to spill some more background intell on the Dyson Sphere, the new alliances, Otas and such.

might try looking in the voice dialogues for the plot, there might be some "terrific" and "wow"s in there somewhere
key features for 6c i would say GMSY, some nice shots of an Otas fleet with the m0/m2r, etc., maybe show the DS as well since hasnt had any fully assembled shots of it so far
With one-lines like those by 'voices' for movie-trailers I mean:
-In a Town, where man like to dress as women...scene
-A City, filled with hope...scene
-A Peach, juicy as a banana...scene
-Ravanged by war...scene
-Silence is their connection...scene
-Sheep have many hairs and make for great carpets!...scene of many naked women
Blablabla....those kinds of lines anyway ;-)
(some comments above are slightly 'off' but for examplery purposes).

I don't have a mic or I would had help you with those. I believe it needs some battle scene , a scene showing a HUGE sohnen fleet to give the player something to fear about(Remember the Nexus cutscene with the allied fleet) , some of the ships added , of course the GMSY too , and it should have a Otas M2R docked to give the player a hint about their connection and the such.
But some text/voice would really be nice.

Wow, animation is my favorite part!!
Thinking about a storyboard for a Xtended-trailer, something like this comes to mind.
Scene1 (aprox. duration: 5sec.):
Xtended logo fade in - fade out.
Scene2 (15 - 20 sec):
Space, slowly asteroidfield pans into view. Heavy traffic flies past the camera (showing some Xtended commercial and military vessels). Zooming in on the asteroid field, past defense platforms, Goner GMSY comes into view, circle it once. (sounds familiar so far Mox?)
"After the Kaak offensive was struck down..."
"The universe sighed in relief..."
"...Oblivious to the dark threat looming ahead"
Scene3 (10 sec):
Dyson Sphere looking menacing, pan away, show flybys of some sohnen vessels.
Scene4 (20 - 30 sec):
A series of short fast paced action scenes showing Xtended vessels and Xtended effects. Individual scenes should not take longer then 3 to 5 seconds MAX. Aditionally special appereances could be squeezed in like, Boron Angel with escort flyby, Paranid M0 battling Argon Levi, Otas M0 under construction at Otas station, etc.
Scene5 (10 sec) :
Close shot of Terran fighter, zooming out reveals a Terran fleet. Camera pans around showing Argon fleet arriving head on in sector. Scene ends, leave no clue what the nature of the encounter is.
Scene6 (10 sec) :
Final shot should point to the player and his role in all this... Haven't pictured it yet. Any ideas?
Optional scene (20 sec):
Some more short action scenes.
Scene7 (5 sec):
Xtended logo - fade out.
That's it, a trailer of aproximately a minute and a half. Sounds short perhaps, but it should do. Is there anything out wich should be in? Filesize ideally somewhere around 30 to 50 mb in a reasonable quality (allthough I wouldn't mind if it were 500mb I'd dl it anyway). Music is important in this as well. Should it be soft like X3 or a little harder? I'd go for something a little harder then the stock X3 music...
Feel free to edit and add some more tekst quotes in here, it's not really my strong point O0

I agree with the music not being the default X3 tunes, everyone knows them by now and frankly they start to become a little boring.
More house-trance/ambient, perhaps even with a piece of well matched hardrock..someting in that order.
The sequencing I agree with too, little too comment there but for Otas totally not being rdy due to scripting leapfrogging behind projected features so best shelved (again lol) until next release.
Instead a scene of the Goner Pilgrim and the MSY would do.
A Nice Pirate fleet quicky would top things off.
Perhaps some Yaki.
Time and comments are well choosen too, little there to say then also in full agreement.
Better getting at it....doing it in a proper way takes MUCH more time per scene then is to my liking so some shortcuts are bound to be taken
since I refuse to make this one become an Academy Award attempt
in time and perfection....a glimps will work, but a good one at that
is ofcourse to be prefered over a rush-over.

I take it you mean the otas shipyard isn't ready for distribution with 6C yet.
Can't it show up in the trailer anyway? It will make it in sooner or later. It just looks so damn nice and makes a perfect backdrop for any scene!
Then again, if you leave it out and you're going to do a second trailer with the next build or so, you have more new things to show...
I agree that it will make for one streaking eyecatcher so if possible then yes.
The issue with this is that in order for it to show up as intended, the final steps to porting it into the mod are nothing to speak off anymore.
As things are it's a mesh and it needs to be lodded and scened...thats a days work to pull off succefully, but it's probably time well spent.

better not to include something major like that if its not going to be released or otherwise we'll be having "but wheres that thing in the trailer?" questions out the wazoo.

Like the storyboard alot.
Just I'd say that the last seconds (Scene 6 or optional scene) should show the sohnen beam weapon.
Scene Idea, start off zoomed in on a part of the sohnen ship so that it fills the screen. Maybe an interesting part like a turret, etc? "Whats that?..." The camera zooms out and its a sohnen ship (or 2 or 3). They start firing the beam weapons and the camera pans left to the target to see a fleet of cap ships obliterated. Fade to Xtended Logo. Fade Out.
(Or something similar to that would be my suggestion.)

Well , the Incubus with the entire weapon array(50 Beam Cannons) is impresive to look at , and more then deadly if you are the target. But you are right , don't know if we should introduce the player to the Sohnen Separatists yet.
I wasnt planning on introducing the real Sohnen too.
That was over a month ago, even before the announcement of ES 2.0
With our .6C most likely a while away still, I just dont think we can 'afford'
not to introduce them as much as we did first anymore.

just didnt see any mention of them making a direct appearance in the plan for the plot thread, how are they being introduced in-game? (i dont have a problem w/ it i just seemed to have missed it)
The Pilgrim mission would be my personal choice.
Find the Stian, get help from some Goner and then all of a sudden a single
Sohnen Mantis pops up to give you hell and has to be defeated.
Would give us a nice introduction to them existing as well as the insane power incorporated in their vessels.
Even taking out a single Mantis should confront the player with some steep problems. The Incubus, Bassilisk and Scylla can be put in a seperate Unknown sector or not even appear in real form at all...unless we can come up with someting easy and swiftly doable for those too.
Would make for an excellent Valhalla obtaining mission this: destroy a Scilla and several Mantis' and Bassilisks and the Valhalla is yours...good luck lol! Requires converted Levi Mission....thats about it I think.

Storyboard looks great
the Valhalla mission sounds cool it will have to be Fracking hard Loads of Cap ships, i wouldn't think the sohnen would go in in-stages as they are much more wiser given their calculative nature
they would go in all guns blazing i would imagine :o

With the Beam Cannon you would need about 25-30 capital ships and hundreds of fighters... Althought you vould survive in a tunned Thor as the beams are unfocused.
the Beam needs to get a better tracking value and less spread, that should do the trick. Offtopic enough for now btw.
