View Full Version : Ships Ships which work
02-05-2009, 07:45 PM
A thread for listing ships which work on basic XTM
Even if we dont (yet) have permission it may be worth testing and trying to negotiate after. If we decide it isnt right then we need not fight for it :P
Note for the things I'm testing I'm mainly just testing that they load correctly. Testing if things fit at docks etc without collisions is much more complex, and can be tested when I have installed all my scripts into being a real game :P. Just becayse it's here doesnt mean it's part of the pack in any way, just marked as being XTM compatible and something to think about

Amataresu - DeadlyDa
Very nice texturing: small and very fast (209) trade ship with a small (490L) cargo and top class handling and a good enough turret and shields to protect from m5s/weak m4s. I believe there has been a call for mini tradeships/utility craft, this looks suitable

EA - Skylark Commercial Transport (Balogt / Cycrow)
A little subtle on the texture but it shows nicely in the light. Sexy ship for its class, an undershielded but fairly fast superfrighter
02-05-2009, 08:17 PM
Either the heaviest armed superfrieghter or the smallest TL, im not sure which. Works, and I can see a few potential uses for it as a mini carrier.

A nice M7 (as in Hyperion style M7, something we are short on). would be deadly with AI, although low count of main guns isnt great for a player ship. It fills a gap though
02-05-2009, 08:24 PM
nice looking. supposed to be yaki hence it fits the superm4/badm3 style like the rijin. nice shields, weak on weapons apart from its MDs, looks hot. Could make for a mortal pirate
02-05-2009, 08:36 PM
overpowered for its class even by yaki standards, and a little dry on textures. Attractive design though and it works
02-05-2009, 08:40 PM
seriously overpower in a "I could take on a terran m3" sort of way. very nice looking though, and a nice possible pirate M3++

Bird of Prey
Bird of Prey Hunter Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Best looking ships i've seen yet. Undershielded but very very maneuverable M7. While we risk upsetting non trek fans, they probably would be too distracted by it's looks to notice it's a Klingon ship. A top notch personal ship too
It's part of a number of ships by the same maker which are marked specifically as XTM compatible (test them anyway), and all come both with or without cockpit (i've taken the non cockpit version)

Federation Excelsior Class
Federation Excelsior Class Refit (Magrathean Monkey)
Nice model, true to the original. Old and underarmed but well shielded, it isnt useless (unless it's expensive). The refit takes gamma ppcs, the older only betas but takes flaks. both take kyons. Could be an interesting option
02-05-2009, 09:10 PM
Romulan D'deridex Class (Magrathean Monkey)
on one hand it looks plain, on other very detailed. Heavily shielded but only moderatly armed, carrier/destroyer crossover. Nice speed for its class though, just over 100.
02-05-2009, 09:16 PM
Federation Galaxy Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Very very nice model. Again lightly armed but well shielded. A light destroyer.
02-05-2009, 09:18 PM
Federation Intrepid Class (Magrathean Monkey)
I've seen worse models used on the TV. Flawless render, fits in nicely as a big M7 (appearing as m1). more shielded than XTM ones but far less armed and pretty fast.
02-05-2009, 09:21 PM
Imperial Shuttle (Magrathean Monkey)
Texture so detailed you can see the rivets on the panels (really you can). a nice classic TP from starwars. Goes back to the x2 idea of TPs haveing a good speed (179 is much more like it).
02-05-2009, 09:43 PM
Federation Carrier Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Good model again. Not a huge number of docking bays but a nice all rounder
02-05-2009, 09:44 PM
Federation Logistics Shuttle (Magrathean Monkey)
Looks nice. Barely any maneuverability and only packing 1 weapon is nowt for an m4 but it has a nice speed and cargobay. Sort of thing you could dock to an m6 to shuttle your wares....
02-05-2009, 09:49 PM
Federation Nebula Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Nice render. TL with same cargo as a mammoth, couple more docks, moderate weaponary like the mammoth, but better looking and a little more shielding :P
02-05-2009, 09:55 PM
Federation Ontario Class Refit (Magrathean Monkey)
A small and fast M2. Very underarmed but looks to be a top notch assault ship if it's cheap enough
02-05-2009, 10:04 PM
TIE Fighter (Magrathean Monkey)
The classic, done well. M5, but takes M size cargo (popular for people who like satellites)
02-05-2009, 10:08 PM
Federation Raven Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Mid sized freight ship (4k cargo), healthy speed and a couple good turrets. A healthy freighter
02-05-2009, 10:18 PM
TIE Bomber (Magrathean Monkey)
An m3 with an APPC!! only one mind you and that's its only main gun. It's what a bomber should be, a nice heavy long range gun with enough for a dozen good shots then it goes back home. Could be popular, especially since long range gun.
02-05-2009, 10:19 PM
Klingon Vorcha Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Another fabulous model. Underarmed but pretty fast for an M2. Makes a nice cruiser perhaps, and takes Flaks all around which is good OOS
02-05-2009, 10:26 PM
YT-2000 (Magrathean Monkey)
The millenium falcon and its brother. Both stunning graphics, you can even see the rust, proves its authentic. two quad IRE turrets is nice anti fighter, although it wouldnt last against a real pirate attack of course. Still a pair of nice fast light cargo craft
02-05-2009, 10:30 PM
Cetus Mk2 (deadlyDa)
Stunning model of something designed to look like an ugly teladi trade ship :P Actually thats just it, it's a perfect teladi TL, efficient, with nice big cargo pods.
02-05-2009, 10:33 PM
Bogstandard stats for an m3 (slowish maybe ) but a great ship design. Really original.
02-05-2009, 10:36 PM
Maquis Raider (deadlyDa)
Very heavy but slow M6 with nice weapons but not much turn. faultless model just like the original.
02-05-2009, 10:40 PM
not the best texture but neither was the original. A moderatly light destroyer, although not very fast either. nice docking bay though
02-05-2009, 10:46 PM
Nice TL, light and fast if lowly shielded
02-05-2009, 11:12 PM
Xenon J Refit
Xenon K Refit
Xenon L Refit
Xenon M Refit
Xenon N Refit
Xenon P Refit (Earth Pilot)
Apart from stunning graphics with the sort of modular (not spiky) design the xenon should always have had, these have the advantage of a proper audio description when examining.
H and I as tradeships seem a little outdated, but the xenon aren't as profit minded i guess.
J and K refit offer two things: No blind spots: LOTS more shielding. Also, unlike before the J is a now less armed than the K, and the K is no longer so stupidly slow. very hot stuff
The fighters are very thin, hard to hit things, look hot as it gets. Stats are very similar to the originals though, they are kept true. The N looks like a fighter drone but better >.<
There are two versions of this, one that adds them as new ships, one that replaces the existing xenon ships
02-05-2009, 11:13 PM
Sadly he seems to have used the low res model, but this replacement Xenon J has a fixed fighter bay for docking at.
02-05-2009, 11:52 PM
Federation Drydock (Kris)
Barely armed, not that heavily shielded, it cannot move and cannot turn really. This has a LOT of docks including a bigship dock and a lot of cargo capacity. Useful for refitting, or just jump it to a sector, dock caps on it and jump out, use it as a depot or semi mobile HQ. Plus it really looks the part.
02-05-2009, 11:59 PM
Tie Avenger (Arachno)
Very very very fast (360) m3 but with very low shields and not much to speak of for weapons or cargo. an assassin/interceptor. Should be popular with split fans, nicely made too
03-05-2009, 12:08 AM
Federation Delta Flyer (Magrathean Monkey)
Weak for it's class but it's looks make up for it. Any trekie will love it. I love it.
03-05-2009, 12:11 AM
Federation Oberth Class
Federation Pioneer Class(Magrathean Monkey)
Both TPs with the same base, reasonable shields and speed. the oberth has a bottom pod which makes it the biggest TP I've seen. up to 8000, XL too, i'd call it a fast super frieghter more than a TP, but i'm sure it will be popular for people who like doing bbs missions. the pioneer is a more normal 750
03-05-2009, 12:17 AM
Firespray (Magrathean Monkey)
Low shielding and no turret which is now odd for an M3, but nice amount of kick and very nice model
03-05-2009, 12:26 AM
Federation Type 10 Shuttle (Magrathean Monkey)
Very nice looking, a fairly normal statted m4.
03-05-2009, 12:30 AM
Weaver Class (Magrathean Monkey)
Interesting TL, low cargo, but very high shields, and docks 6 ships which I believe takes TSs, possibly bigger.
03-05-2009, 12:34 AM
Federation Nova Class (heif/knox1711) <br />
Very fast for an m1/m7 at 250 (has no docking though), yet only armed with BKyons, and only 2 on the main at that. 2GJ shields and a very very high recharge...
03-05-2009, 12:42 AM
Well that's all I'm likely to do for a while. I'll be playing with those ships to blow up some split for a couple days, but now we know there are definately some nice ships whose creators are worth talking to. We probably wont want even 1/3 of this many so we should start looking into who is willing to share and start thinking about choosing, plus I'm sure there are quite a few more valid options to look at too. I was picky about which I wanted for myself :P
03-05-2009, 06:36 AM
Yo dude, single posting and please make the disclamer clearer...
03-05-2009, 09:46 AM
main reason was to keep them one per post so we can see more clearly and if need be can deleted too
03-05-2009, 10:07 AM
would it be ok to ask you to split this all up into there own threads... Cheers
03-05-2009, 12:02 PM
well maybe we should count out the ones we arent interested in yet, like the heavily themed ships (since this was a personal selection i checked on the basis that i had a clean install anyway at the time). I've shown yuo a couple of non themed ships, maybe we should just start with those? Use this thread for the general ideas of what we have as potential options? (plus anyone who wants to add their own ships on after will find this helpful)
03-05-2009, 12:03 PM
exilent idea dude O0 top banana lol
04-05-2009, 08:41 AM
DeadlyDa has stated he does not wish to have his ships in other mods. It's a pity since he has some fabulous stuff but it's quite understandable too.
That somewhat cuts down on the number of possibles.
04-05-2009, 03:21 PM
how many have you asked? Color code it like i did the -=LIST=- so we know what you'v done... O0
10-05-2009, 04:21 AM
Tritous quick question how did you get the ships in game i have gotten as fas as the ships are installed in game but i cant find them in game what are you doing to get them in game usable :?
10-05-2009, 07:20 AM
well I just scripted them in to test if they showed up or crashed it etc. After we have a list of working ships we have permission to use we can start choosing what shipyards to add them to. That is done by script, then call it with a setup script that runs each time you start up
10-05-2009, 05:16 PM
my prob is like i said i can install the ships to the game with cycrows Plugin Manager but i cant find them in game even tried cheating them in but still cant find them in game :x
27-05-2009, 11:45 PM
anyhoo, have we got any working ships?
