View Full Version : [Jobs]RC testers needed!

I'm sure everyone is happy to hear we have now put together RC1, which, while still lacking a few extras, has all of the core game play elements in place. We now need 5-10 temporary testers to help bring it to release status, the only thing standing between us and release is how fast we can test everything and how fast the devs can fix any problems.

Please do not apply just to get an advance copy.
Testers must keep in mind that they will likely have to undergo multiple restarts. You will also likely spoil certain plot/mission elements for yourself since you will need to use cheats, etc. to rapidly reach the level necessary to test certain things.

Testers should have the following:
-Lots of free time over the next month or so (an hour or two a day goes a long way)
-Ability to communicate clearly in English
-An MSN account (easy to get if you don't have one)
-Lots of X3 experience
-Dedication to helping us!

Also a plus:
-Prior Xtended experience
-Prior testing experience (X3 or otherwise)
-LV cheats knowledge (if you don't have them, get them)

Please post below if interested, it will largely be based upon a first-come-first basis, although we reserve the right to add or kick out anyone at any time at our discretion.

After release those that prove useful members of the team will be given the option of remaining as permanent team members.

- /me is XBtF / X² / X³ veteran :)
- I also tryed out all cheats and scripts to get a bit fun into the X³ universe (after finishing the storylines in all 3 X-Universes)

I'd recommend for all testers to uninstall all mods except your XTM prototype, as well as all other scripts.
This will ease your work.

I myself installed a separate copy of X3 for the XTended. Prior for testing purposes, now to play XTM (I didn't patch this copy).
But if you do that, you'll have also to install the X-Plugin Manager a 2nd time, bear that in mind. ;)

Hi Syk,
I've got loads of free time, and would love to help out in any way I can, I've never tested b4 though, but meet all the other requirements by the bucketload,
ps- restarts a speciality !!! :)

I'll start adding people within a day or two as soon as we get a couple things organized so new testers know what's going on and what needs testing.

Does this give us a hint as to a probable release date? :paranoid:

Anyway, I'd love to help, but I'd only be able to for a couple of weeks (going home for easter), so I dunno if you guys would want me bailing halfway through.

well if you can do some work in that time then it will be worth it

That is the release date hint.

@S_R- Please refrain from answering questions like that in the future, it can be both misleading and confusing.

@andy- Depends, how much time will you have in the mean time? And will you have any time to test at all when at home/after you get back?

Well, I'll be at home for 3 weeks, from the 26th March to the 16th April, and I'm not sure if I'd be able to do any testing while I'm there. I suppose I could take my copy of X3 with me and install it on my brother's computer. After I come back I'll have loads of time, and before I go I'll have maybe a couple of hours a day. It's up to you if you think it's worth it.

My MSN is boy_d2 [at] hotmail [dot] com if you want to talk to me.
