teu timer

i see a message every so often that says 'the teu timer is still working and has xxxx seconds to go' or something close to that. i have searched both forums and googled it and have found zip, nada and zero. any help? TIA

Do you mean "Tea Timer"?

If you have Spy-Bot Search & Destroy installed. It's part of that.

It is part of SpyBot s&d as Buck mentioned, basically what it's doing is scanning your 'puter for any changes that might be caused by malicious software.. IE: trojan horses, malware bots, spam bots, etc..

Simply ignore it as it shouldn't affect your game play, unless it pops up during your game (which I've never known it to.. yes, I too have SpyBot s&d installed) you have nothing to worry about...

it is teu not tea. it is odd that it shows up only in the game messages. i have never seen it any where else. every time i see it the number is bigger. thanks for the input.

Can't say as I've ever noticed that myself, then again I haven't played NH for a fair while, so it's entirely possible for it to be happening.....

What additional scripts ,if any, do you have installed? I know there is a list of scripts that enhance game play on the Mod D/L page, do you have any of them installed as well? :think: (I'm just trying to work out whether it's caused by either a faulty script or an incompatible script...)

Seeing as it's saying "tue", that makes me think it's a french script running...
I say that because most of the guys who worked both on the Mod itself & in creating additional scripts for it, speak french....
However that said, I did try to make the english language text in the main Mod files as contextually correct as possible when I proofread it for Phlt, but unfortunately some things did slip thru uncorrected.. (He wrote the english text for the Mod as well as leading the team making it)

I do know that one of the AL (artificial life) script's in the Mod itself has to with taxation & requires you to purchase a "license" to trade any item.. (IE: you purchase a missile transport license if you carry missiles, a mineral license if you carry ore/sil/niv, etc....)
I wonder if that isn't what's causing this? :think:

Unfortunately, I don't really know what else to do to help sort this out for you, other then suggesting you contact Phlt who created the Mod....... :(

Hmm, that is a completely new one to me.... :shock:
I honestly have no idea what's going on there, from what I can see it's a timer of some sort but for what I have no idea unless it's for some NPC ship or something, I'm not sure what to make of it.... :think:

I do know that the NPC's will try & steal one of the freebie cap ships (a unique TL class ship) floating around in the game unless you get there 1st.... Even then it can be a very close run thing at times, as I well know from experience... A few times, I've gotten there just as they've capped the ship forcing me to try & capp it back off them.... :lol:

Hmm, just had another thought occur to me.. I wonder if it's got something to do with the ISF script in the main Mod files.... :think:

Unfortunately, I think the only way your going to get a definite answer to this mystery would be by contacting Phlt, the Mod creator, however he rarely visits the forum these days, so it seems the only way to contact him in any sort of hurry would be to send him an email via his website: http://www.3enfamille.net (http://www.3enfamille.net/)
