Starting again :(

Hi All,

Happy new year to you all, looking for some advice. Since my computer imploded and sucked down a blackhole resulting in the lose of my hard drive, X3TC and all my gamesaves including backups, I find myself starting again from scratch. (nice new shiney home build pc :).

Should I download the modded xtc game on here or stick with the vanilla. Could you tell me if the modded game still has the missions from the vanilla game on it? Also is Albion Prelude worth downloading?

Personally I would suggest that you download and install the current version of XTC (1.2a), including the hotfix, but only play it relatively briefly as a "taster". Version 2.0 is expected fairly soon, and will not be savegame-compatible.

Until the release of XTC 2.0, I would suggest that you play X3-TC as your "main" game - I suspect that the hub will keep you busy there for quite a while...

I haven't tried Albion Prelude myself, so can't give any advice on it.

Ive got Albion Prelude its basically TC with a new mission added but you cant play the other main TC plots on it from what i see it just the new one as a stand alone

Additionally AP is not compatible with XTC.
