  1. Why Devs should be allowed only small 32bit, memory limited machines...

And after a while i'm here again, writing random thoughts on a random matter: software developing!

First off, i've recently re-taken on scenes rendering of people, characters etc.; i used to do that in Smith Micro Poser, but the new characters thrown out by daz3d have serious compatibility problems with poser, needing a 'translated' setup done by a scripted importer, that imo have several limits and bugs, so i decided to give a go to daz studio instead, the now free application developed

  2. A philosophy of game balancing and several ways to make it unworthy

First of all: why posting this in a blog instead of in the forum? Well, probably because it's just some loud thinking that i'm making, and i don't think it has to be so 'interactive' as a forum thread.

Why such a subject? Mainly because i am a bit fed up with posts criticizing the work we have done in XTC, posts which bottom line can be translated into: I like what you made but you could have done it better, because i was expecting it to be different, so, since it is not exactly how

  4. A theory of conservation

Most of us has heard about the theory of conservation: nothing is created or destroyed, all changes. (That is just a brutally summarized version of what the laws of conservation state).

I think that law can be applied also to chaos and order. In this sense: for any struggling step you'll make towards order, you'll inevitably cause an opposite step towards chaos somewhere else. (Postulate: you will cause also a proportional increment in someone else's rage).

    For now i have

  5. You like... X-treme sports?

Just thought i had to add something with an X in the title

I just founded the first X-treme checkers club.
The rules of Xtreme checkers are the same of the classic board game, but - the xtreme ingredient is: you must be playing against a towering, short-tempered, rather unexperienced guy, and mock him constantly at any good move you make or bad move he makes...
