A Terran Adventure (Part 42) - Training Exercise

With the Paranid now satisfied with the results of the operation, I checked-up on the progress reports from R&D.

Apparently my first mass produced Goner Aran is on-line and ready for a shake-down cruise. Deciding to grant it flag ship status, I register the ship as "Spirit Avatar" and instruct my personal medium sized ships currently on standby to dock with it.

Deciding to go exploring the unexplored sectors using the UFJD with the intent of finding any more of the lost Arans, I order Spirit Buckler to dock at Spirit Avatar and prepare for a training operation.

Just as Spirit Buckler enters the sector I receive a flash status report from my surveilance division... The pirates in Vestibule of Creation have got themselves a new carrier.

Deciding that the Pirate Galleon would make a good training exercise, I take control of Spirit Buckler and instruct the marines to prepare for boarding.

After a quick and decisive encounter, I have a new slightly battered Galleon, a moderatly damaged Blastclaw and two Pirate prisoners.

Placing the Galleon (equiped with 4xIPG, 12xPPC, 4xIBL, and 2GJ shields from my stores) on station defending my HQ (along with the Galleon that I captured during Operation Reciprocity similarly equiped) I dock with Spirit Avatar and prepare for the exploration mission.
