Official Internal Memo

It has been a long time since the Spirit Buccaneers had been on a mission, more recently they had been assisting with the training of the new recruits into the Marine Corp. arm of Spirit Industries while the CEO was off doing diplomatic and corporate negotiations, but now the R&D arm had a mission for them, well actually five. The mission was simple, board one of each of the five ATF capital vessels (Tyr, Odin, Skirnir, Aegir and Vali) and return them to Spirit Home for reverse engineering, and the CEO had a plan...

Neptune often has ATF patrols crossing the sector so the plan is to sit tight at Spirit Home and wait for the right opportunities to have Spirit Eater and Spirit Buckler jump in to Neptune, Spirit Buckler to then barrage the target with missiles at close range, launch the marines, transfer the CEO to Spirit Eater, and then jump out while the CEO stays in sector to observe the operation.

The mission was achieved in three sessions... first the Tyr and Skirnir, then the Odin and Aegir, and finally the Vali. The Tyr was captured first but a miscalculation by the weapon officer, who was a little frazzled after some heavy training sessions, meant that Spirit Buckler had to stay in sector to pepper the shields with missiles in order to counter the regen of the Tyr's powerful shield generators. The Skirnir, Odin, and Aegir were all captured with very little further issues though an overcompensation on the Odin resulted in some hull breaches in non-critical areas. The Vali proved a bit harder, and due to some excessive but necessary over compensation the ship suffered heavy damage to large portions of the outer corridors resulting in the death of one marine but the operation was successful and concluded the mission.

The Spirit Buccaneers have now returned to base and toasted the missing man with large quantities of the best Space Fuel that Spirit Industries had to offer. A highly skilled and trained Teladi marine has been introduced to the Spirit Buccaneers and will undergo the nominal initiation rites over the next few weeks while the team recover from their recent tour of duty. A training mission in unknown space has not been ruled out but the CEO has granted them leave of absence in recognition of the team's extreme professionalism and commitment to duty in deference to losing one of their closest friends and colleagues.

In the light of this recent tragedy the CEO will grant each employee a bottle of the companies best space fuel in order to toast and honor the memory of the soldier who recently lost his life in the line of duty.
