Ok folks...

Probably many of you know Fringe, the TV Sci-fi series... I got hooked onto it since the pilot and really love it. But i'm here talking about a different issue, something related to it but in a very sad way:

The "public" TV channel Italia1 of the Mediaset 'cartel' has been airing all the first season of Fringe, getting apparently a good public response. Now their plan is finally revealed: they are really acting like a drug cartel: first they give us a taste of their good stuff for free... to move the second season all to their pay channel 'Steel' (part of the Mediaset Premium channels).

I'm quite pissed off at them. Once again they are just demostrating their true nature.

Thank goodness there are so many alternative sources to grab the whole series and watch the episodes whenever you like...

So long with TV. Going on this way they'll find themselves only using their free channels to promote their pay channels to an inexistent public.

    That happens currently in germany also, as the most of the TV stations are starting encoded channels with the CI and CI+ technology. Even one of the biggest cable networks for TV is involved in this process. It's a common habit for big companies to act like the mafia when it comes down to earning money. They try to squeeze out every single Euro ... and so they try to lure you onto their completely overrated, cheaply made and expensive pay channels. This was done so often, they already should have learned it, but no... they keep on trying. The whole Soccer season, THE main sport in germany , is on a paychannel. Guess what? Not even 10% of all people are buying the cards/settop boxes. The soccer league has already ruined the thrd company, and there are no competitors anymore Their whole system crashed, and believe me, company like yours will live on that trick some years, but after a time, reality strikes back

    I dont watch TV anymore. I fully prefer buying box sets of TV series and watching them all at once. Plus, as you say at least i'm only supporting the production cartel, not the re-distribution side.
