The Gender of God

Rate this Entry
In Christianity, people often refer to God as their Lord or Father, so basically they perceive God as a man.
The reason as to why they did this and continue to do so is due to the fact that the males hold the highest positions in their society.
It comes natural for a society ruled by men to create and/or worship male gods and a society ruled by women to have female gods in order to implement in the minds of the negligible masses ,in a more or less obvious fashion, that they represent the stronger gender and to further consolidate and maintain their authority.
Now, Gods are suposed to be perfect beings/entities, right?
Great power and wisdom and all that jazz.....
And men and women are imperfect, they are two halves, they complement each other and only when they are together they can form a whole and create life and so on, right?
At least, those are the popular beliefs, yes? No?
See anything wrong in this „picture”?
Gods having genders tends to contradict the whole idea of perfection, but oh well....who am I to question thousands of years of religious farses pardon, I mean beliefs?
I guess it is easier to understand but more importantly, it is more convenient that way.
