Hi everyone,
With permission from Backstept ( A member of scifi-meshes ) I am re-building his beautiful Cygnus Defender ship with a more Pegasus style influence
Here is what the original looks like.

I've seen this on Scifi-meshses. I think it's a great design and would make a nice addition to the mod. Will it's function be like a battlestar or will it serve in more of a fleet support role?
Great choice Ice Dragon!

I really love this design!!! ID - the rear pic looks v classy!
A streamlined and elegant development..
Please keep the updates coming ID!
It should be an m6 support/type role...
Btw ... we also have permission to use Backstep's original model.

Why not use them as a older ship and a newer ship, to get that feeling new and old contrast.

Well we wouldn't wan't to miss out on two good models ;)
Hmm, I guess if we used both, the older would be like a retired military ship used for private security that joined the fleet.
Love the new model, Ice-dragon! O0

Thanks for the comments guysO0
there is no reason that we don't use the older one as a military training ship?

Here is an update on the Cygnus MKII:D
I have now added the side pods and build the underside, still have to panel the underside tho, guns are in place but need a little work to make them look good.
here is a render for you all to look at. ( I have opened one of the missile bays to show you what it would look like )

I still have lots of work to do on this.

Ice Dragon,,
this ship looks awsome,,,can't wait for it,,,in addition to this how about a scaled down version without the side pods and guns (as in your first pictures) which can be used as fast transporters
Looking forward to seeing the ship in game

Looks good Elffin,, what is it. The ship bottom left looks very nice, perhaps someone can model that for the game, and as for the Scorpion shipyard, that would fit right in, I assume we will see these in the upcoming BSG Mod
That's brilliant, Ice! O0

just a question, but i don't see bottom guns.
is that cause it's a work in progress, or is there not going to be bottom guns?
PS: Great work!

@ lostami :- yes this is still a work in progress so there are still more guns to be put in place:)

Scorpion shipyard will be in there but maybe not right away, as for some of the other ships in that pic you never know;)

I was looking at the model and I noticed a missile hatch open, are you going to make those functional? I mean is there a way to make them functional?
Very nice model :)

I noticed you are not using the main battery with the bubble cockpit thing... whys that?
Ice-Dragon
29-05-2008, 09:59 AM
The history for this ship is that it was built at around the same time as the Pegasus & Valkyrie battlestars and there guns are fully automated. It was only the older class of battlestars like the Galactica that had bubble cockpit on it's main guns.

*druel* Sweetness, Ice-dragon! Are those four holes in the front, under the nose guns or maneuvering thrusters?

Awesome, some of your best work dude.

Thanks Apollo, ML
@ML :- the thrusters are on the side of the nose and are four large guns just under the nose.
Cool! I agree with, apollo. Some of your best work. ;)

WOW - Outstanding job Ice!! I can't wait to take one of these out for a spin!
Is that a hangar I see?? Will we be able to dock fighters?

Thanks Wolf518
yes that is a hanger, I seem to of make a small error with the internal size so I'll be redoing that soon, it might be possible to launch 6-10 vipers from it.

YAY!! A hanger!!
I'll be able to use these as a good sector patrol, it will make up most of my fleet with 1 of each battlestar as a flagship.
This is going to rock!
