Battlestar Valkyrie

Hi Guys,

I started to build the Battlestar Valkyrie the other day.

Here is a render of where I am at with it.

But question to the "rollbar". Was this not on a variant of the Valkyrie? Meant was an another battlestar?

OK lets sort out the roll-bar issue shall we.

In the episode Hero you see the Valkyrie and it has no roll-bar that we can all agree on:lol: but now when it comes to Razor that is a tricky one.

here is the evidence.

now from that you get 2 answers
1:- the roll-bar is part of the shipyard. If it was true wouldn't it go all the way over the the ship at a higher level to allow the ship to dock?
2:- who ever did the animation for that part of the film made a very big mistake in the same way as having the TOS enterprise seen in the fleet:lol:

anyway I have modeled it to be-able to be taken off to allow for both eventualities.

But that concept drawing is a very convincing arguement for its inclusion....

Excellent work as always, Ice! I had not noticed the roll-bar on the ships until I saw your screenshot from Razor. It's an interesting oversight on the part of the effects people. Maybe we could just say it's a "sister-ship" modification for the purposes of the mod.

i think the rollbar looks better but thats just a personal opinion i have myself used it on The BS ajak ship that i built and i'm on my way to doing a heavy armoured version its going to be smaller faster with more weapons upfront and stealth style design to it, was thinking of naming it a strikestar called DEFIANT unless you have any better names

P.S. ice would it be poss for you to send me the models for the CYGNUS mk2 and the GUNSTAR would like to use parts from them to build a new ship type, pm me or email them to me

The Valkyire it the one without the roll-bar and the Valhalla is the one with.

fair do however any models you can realise would be helpfull in me building the shipyards with the correct sizes and i can design new ships built using all the models i'll have and put them together

Are those launch tubes underneath the flight pods? :?

Yes those are the launch tubes and only six of them just go's to show how small this ship is.

Yah, it may be small but that's what I love about the Valkyrie Class Battlestar. It's little but a ton of bad@ss. :)
