Ok here it is i to tell you guys that im currently working on the internal Factory design for the BSG Ship.
What will the main idea be is that.
-Ship construction: Viper Mk2, Viper Mk7, Raptor, Small Freighter.
--Ressources: Armor Plating, Engine component, Electronics, Titanium.
-Ordnance: 30MM ( Main Viper gun ammo ), Javelin HD-80 Lightning, Javelin HD-80 Lightning NWH ( Nuclear Warhead ) and a DumbFire Missile ( Fast Unguided High Yield Between Javelin and Javelin NWH missile )
--Ressources: Titanium, Explosive Powder ( Viper Ammo ), Warhead, Nuclear Warhead ( Javelin NWH ), Electronics ( Javelin ), Solid Fuel Turbo Thrust-Jet.
*Edit: Forgot to add Ship Module Construction*
-Module Construction: MEC-A6 ( Viper gun ), Shield, Scanner, ECM, *Your idea here*
--Ressources: Depends on the Module exept titanium and electronics i dont see what i can add.
Crew Management:
-Station Report ( With Cur/Max for each station ( Ship Crafting, Ordnance, Engine crew etc etc ) )
-Ration ( in % ) ( Lower Ration will decrease moral and such but also decrease consumption of food )
-Train Civilian
-Assign Worker, Officer and so on.
Misc
-Damage Report
-Repair Priority
-Water reclycling
-Air recycling
The DumbFire missile will need a name, Vote for it!
If you have any suggestion dont be shy! Same goes for question.

Also for the different station here the list i made so far
-Ship factory
-Ordnance Factory
-Module Factory
-Maintenance ( General repair if any, help other factory when no repairs needed )
-Marines ( yes you MAY be boarded by Cylon if they get to close of the ship, no marine = HEAVY loss on crew and officer, so be sure to always have marines )
-Medical bay ( Cure injuries that may occur on normal days, sickess and so on )
-Cantine ( HEY we all need to eat! )
-Stand By ( Worker and officer Standing-by to replace invalidate worker officer, will not fill any station by themself, they will only replace worker or officer if they get sick or injured, will go back to the Stand-by pool once the incapacited come back, if they do come back ( anyone can die because injury is too severe ;) ) )

Thats all now im going to sleep its 6.28 AM here, as soon i wake up ill take all in consideration then ill start the work! ( already have core script being sritten in my head as we speak :D )

The list sounds inspired Jocan. O0 Definitley plenty to discuss there.
Before dashing off to work - have a word with our chief scripter Stevio (http://www.thexuniverse.com/forum/member.php?find=lastposter&t=5884).
Don't worry too much regarding ship names - got a big list hidden somewhere ;)
All will be revealed with time................

Okay, this might be stupid and ultimately impossible with the games engine, and our workforce, but why dont we make it able to walk inside the bigger ships like a battlestar for instance. And if an enemy jumps in the Deck officer will immediately open a dialogue, and say "Sir, bogey has just jumped into the system, what are your orders?" and the answers you pick would be:
Action Stations!
Do nothing
Get the Frak out of here!!
It could be kind of like a star trek bridge commander i once tried. And if you pick action stations the Klaxons will start blaring and the officer will come on the PA
"Action Stations, Action Stations, Set Condition One throughout the ship, this is not a drill!!"
Again that might not be possible, but it would be AWESOME.:lol:

Here are some suggestions that might be more doable:
-Have an order for fighters to fly CAP. (That might have been mentioned)
-Add a new ware: Naval Battery Rounds, and Powder Packages LG.
For the main batteries on a battlestar.
-Has anyone ever played any of those Silent Hunter or Destroyer Command, or Enigma Rising Tide games? If so you will remember a
certain screen: Damage control. It is a top down view of the ship with compartments damaged in yellow, destroyed in red, and under repair in Blue.
-Damage Control Should have 3 Screens: Armor Damage, Frame Damage, Internal Damage (fires, decompressions, FTL failure)
-The map should look like a BSG DRADIS Screen.
-Maybe your ship can be configured, a more powerful engine, armor, weapons, FTL. There could be a screen if you dock at a drydock where you can see a 3d image of your ship and you can select weapons, or other components, review specs, and exchange them.
-The marines thing would be cool, even cooler if you yourself could grab a gat and search the ship for boarders.
-You could lose power on your ship. I just love that sound of the whole ship shutting down, Jshoooooooo :grin:
-Your crew can actually defend the ship, not the ship do all crazy acrobatics while chasing a fighter. I am talking about a true BSG fight where the ship is on a relatively straight course and the guns shoot at things only in range.
-Maybe there can be a weapons control station or menu where you can see the different batteries (like the 8 guns on top of the Galactica are divided into 2 batteries) And give them orders like:
Attack Target: (target name)
Flak rounds
-Maybe you can choose on a battlestar what ammunition goes into the weapon i.e: Heavy Rounds for long range firing, and flak rounds for fighter control.
-PDG's can be given orders like:
Engage fighters only.
Flak Field
Engage Missiles only.
There are some suggestions, i will list more as i think of them. I could provide research images on DRADIS screens, Navigation screens, and pretty much any screen you have seen on BSG.

Some of those ideas I really like! I particularly like the idea of the ship shutting down, which I think could be possible. Some of the other ones just aren't within the X3 engine.

See, i am new to the modding business, and i cant really afford light wave or any of those things, but i can still provide research and ideas. I might not know what i am talking about when i say this, but here it is:
Wouldnt the damage control screen, and the 3d outfitting be applications like menus? They could be, maybe you dont have to be able to walk on the ship just bring up detailed reports about your ship.
OOOHH!!! I just thought of another suggestion, after a battle there can be battlescars on your ship! Until you repair it with new armor plates.
Also is it possible to have pieces of your armor blown off to reveal the structural framing? Then when you repair it, the armor is re-surfaced. I just think if we put one of those
Armor at 10%. (Even though there isnt a scratch on the ship)
Type things is could make it less realistic. And we DO NOT need to make the vipers more zero-g because i was flying fast in one, and my hand slipped and i was close to an asteroid, and even though i pointed the viper away, it was still losing its inertia from flying towards the asteroid, so i hit it and was destroyed.

With the new GUI cycrow made it may be possible to add some of these feature, for damage control we can monitor *ship system* like navigation software ftl drive and such, but there wont be *localised hull damage* wich mean that even if we get all the hits on starboard side there is no way to make the starboard side of the image get red.
As for engine and such, it may be something possible also, BUT, no where in the serie we can see that, so i dont think we will implement this, but who know!, maybe a feature when you beat the game?
So far the limits of the engine block us the 6 *turret group*, wich mean if we have 2 group of turret on top, we wont have turret soemwhere else.
Loose power, yes neat idea really, and its somthing we could implemente, ( to allow this we would remove *engine tunning and rudder optimisation* and run on Auxiliairi Engine ( because we CANT disallow a ship piloted by the player to stop working but we can make it slow and bulky like if using auxiliairy engine.
Marine would be cool also, but we cant make the marine ship *dock* at the other ship. ( Idea add a command on raptor docked on BSG Send marine, then it will send a raptor next to the shp drop marines, and come backto dock at the BSG?
Sure thing, since mostly all weapon are balistic they need ammunition, so be ready to be on constant look-out of your ammo and production line ;).

I'm not a scripter, but I don't think scripts can change the textures or models a ship uses, making changing the appearance of a ship a no go.
Making custom menus, other than within the ship commands is also something I don't think i possible, maybe with Cycrows GUI, but it would be a huge amount of work I think.
Again, I'm not a scripter, Stevio can probably better respond here.
But keep up the ideas!

Hmmmm..........No localized damage, eh? Damn, that would've been cool. And about the power loss, i was thinking you lose power until the ship's engineers can repair the generator. Also we could do a complete overhaul of the menu's, make them look more BSG-like. The menu i am talking about is this:

ALso it might be hard to do this, but could someone kind of give me an idea of the limitations of the game engine. So i could maybe think of a way to get around them.
