Uploading files is possible due to the sophisticated Attachment Manager
used by vBulletin.
In a thread where a user has permissions to upload files, there is a section below the Editor called Attachments
. Select the Manage Attachments
button, and a small window will open which will display all the existing files (if any) that you have uploaded.
Here you can add any files you wish to upload to the site (this is only restricted by whether the forum allows a particular file type to be uploaded, or if a user has reached his limit on uploaded files). Once uploaded, you can choose to insert them as attachments, or insert them inline.
Attachments show at the end of a thread, whereas inline are displayed within the post itself. If you are using the What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG for short) Editor, you will be able to edit the picture by clicking on the small pencil symbol, and then edit whether it's displayed as a thumbnail, or full, whether it has a border, or aligns to the left, center, or right of the forum post.
The system automatically spreads the forum text around the image.
You can delete files by choosing to remove them from the post/posts you posted them to as attachments or inline. Any unused files are removed from the system after one hour.
The VaultWiki product allows for all image files that are uploaded within the Wiki Image namespace to be available for inclusion in a post, provided the poster has permissions to use/add such images.
