Perseus Sentinel - This ship is a variant of the Paranid M3 class ship, the Perseus. As with most Sentinel variants, this ship sacrifices speed for extra shielding, and this makes it ideal for heavy assault roles, where taking damage is inevitable. The Perseus is the successor to the Prometheus. Its first test run was considered an embarrassment to the Paranid as it was stolen by a Pirates, leading to their request for external help to recover it.
The ship was initially tested with shields used for corvette ships but they wrecked havoc with some of the internal systems so they were changed for above standard sizes.
