MISSION
Title: Boron Angel Mission
Synopsis: Deliver a Ransom to Rescue a Princess
Difficulty: 4 - Not so easy - Can be difficult depending upon what pirates are around at the destination.
Reward: You are given a Boron Angel TP and can now buy them in Shipyards (Note the Boron Angel can carry XL Cargo!).
Ship Advised: You will have to buy an Octopus for the first part, then switch to something reasonably fast and finally, switch to something which can fight.
Adverse Effects: If you don't do it, you can be offered again later, apparently, the kidnappers aren't in a hurry to get their ransom. If you "Accidentally kill or capture the "Royal Yacht", it should respawn later.
How to Find: Not on BBS - Found in a RANDOM Boron Sector - more often than not in Queens Space near the Trading Station - Start at the East Gate and work your way West.
Overview: When you find the correct Royal Boron Angel Yacht (There are a few of them about, I wrote a script to test this and found 3 in my X-Verse however, only 1 is "THE" Royal Yacht), if you get close enough they will contact you and ask you to help them out.
You will be asked to go and buy an Octopus (This kidnapper is expecting some Boron in an Octopus of course) and then you will be sent to a pirate sector to find a particular pirate and give him the ransom. (The pirate flies in an overtuned Pirate Elite (speed 200))
After the money transfer the pirate ship leaves you with a warning not to follow him.
Here, you need to change ships (Apaprently, The octopus has a unique energy sig and you will get recognised if you are still in it - or even have it docked in a larger ship you are flying!) You will need something quite fast to keep up as he travels at 200.
After a few sectors you should arrive in a sector and see a Galleon.
If you get close enough to the Galleon, you get a messege to deal with the fighters until they release the Queens relative
After killing the fighters (you don't need to kill the Galleon) you get a message that they have rescued the hostage.
Quotes from other Officers: I did it today no problem, the trick is to change ship from the octopus to something else straight away, but then hang around 10k behind him until he gets to where he is going.
I've finally finished the angel mission. It was pretty tough as I had to escort through multiple pirate sectors dealing with a bunch of fighters, a galleon and even a khaak destroyer. Anyway as a reward you get the angel, a personal royal yacht. I'm thinking cool I get a powerful m7 type like the hyp. Boy was I disappointed. Those damn Boron give you a crappy tp for saving their princess
At the end you get a free boron angel, and then you can buy them at boron shipyards too.
Dont switch to a Hyperion, switch to a Discoverer and follow him. Have the Hyperion Jump to your final destination system... and switch there when you spot where is he going
After following the pirate courier, i reached the sector where the galleon is. i find the galleon behind the gate, taking atmosphere damage. using LV's cheats (reset hull and shields) i kept it and the pirate courier alive until it had docked. then the iguana vanguard launched and got instant killed by the atmosphere. i then get a message to let me know the boron hate me
I had to follow the rescue ship all the way to a Boron Trading Dock. And then jump to pick up my reward ship which was completely unequiped!!!!
Was just exploring the boron core sectors (as ya do when starting a new game) and I came across a lone Boron Angel in Queen's space so i thought i'd take a look. Turns out he comms me! I wont go into massive detail but I had to buy an Octopus and fly to Hatikvah's faith where I was to hand over some fake ransom money to a Pirate Elite. 'Transaction' was completed and I had orders to follow him back to base. Get to Nopileos Memorial and he turns hostile on me so I despatch of him as you do (in a Buster for reference) and by a stroke of luck I happened to cap the ship. Not bad, been playing 5 hours and i've already got an Elite! The problem however is that the mission isn't progressing any further. (That's because you didn't let the Kidnapper get to his mates and split the ransom, so maybe they killed the hostage!).
