Default How to disable the correct mod files message.

Ok i have a slight annoyance.
I have added ships and modified some of the xtm ones
But now with .74 every time i start the game i get a message that my install is damaged......
How do i shut this down?
But for the rest good work with bringing out the patch.

Hi xeon_1, am I following you correctly - you made changes to 0.7.3 and then patched it to 0.7.4?

well you get the warning because you messed up your TShips so continue at your own risk you should seriously consider to do it properly and not just assume everything will work ^^

technical side - look for a discoverer "SS_XTM_VERSION_DUMMY" at the end of the original 0.74 TShips and take a peek at it's hull strenght "740" ... XTM spawns one ship at that TShips index and takes it's hull strenght as the version number so either you shifted the indexes of XTM ships inside TShips (that would be bad) or your changes are not based on 0.74

Rejoice - For very bad things are about to happen !

apparently the patch hasn't overwritten the 11 dat/cat files since there isn't an tships file in it.
      Dammit.
I used the patch version but considering the plugin manager profile is selected it takes that tships file.
And that is the one i have modified and added a few ship to it.
But haven't run into any walls yet
So to get everything to .74 i need to use the full version then plugin manager for the additional ships and scripts.
Then modify that tships file again to match the modifications i made.
      pff.
You should put a warning with the patch version that it is only compatible with an unmodified and no additional scripts xtm.

Hey man, sorry you're in a bit of a jam but changes to source material are something we modders just have to live with I'm afraid. Egosoft patch their product, scripters and modders have to adapt to the changes. The XTM team change their product, well you can see where I'm going with this right?

Rule number one: Don't directly edit the source material, leave it intact and put your changes over the top of everything in your own personal .cat/.dat files.

Rule number two: When new versions are released, check the new files and changelog and expect to modify your own changes.

Rule number three: Sometimes a restart is inevitable.

Sorry dude but that's just the way it is.

It is specifically mentioned in the full change log that 0.7.4 will now also check if the correct tships is being used. Also there are multiple mentions of ship stats being changed, and a mention of a new ship being added - which if you are editing your own files you will know means that tships has been altered.
      - XTM now checks if the correct TShips version is used and notifies the player if otherwise
      - Added 1 M3 and 1 TS docking slot to:

      • Titan
      • Ray
      • Oddyseus
      • Phoenix
      • Python
      • K

      - Adjusted gun count on Paranid Olympus
      - Shivan Dragons and Rock Beetles use M6 and M5 icons (respectively) now instead of AHEPT icon.
      - New Kha'ak M3+ 'Intruder'
      - The Real Sohnen ships now have no docks in Tships to match with no docks in the scene files
      - The Xenon K explosion effect has been fixed. IE. It now uses a large exp instead of a medium one.
      - Castrum docking [now 6xM6 and 2xTS]
So please don't post with all guns blazing about how you were not warned, when you so blatantly were. We cannot fix things if we can't edit the files.

I have found a way arround it by packing the patch files into a spk and then using the script installer.
first .73 then.74 then all the ships and then editing the plugin manager cat/dat file.
But everything works ok only downside whas it left a big financial crater since half my fleet where additional ships.
But they changes position in the tships file so i had a bunch of invisible ships that is had to be destroy then and buy new ones.

Glad you managed to sort the problem out.

Sorry to hear of your financial loss, sounds like LV's cheats is the way to go here.
