point to point jump drive doesn't exist

This is a copy of a post mad ein the egosoft forums. i posted there first since i couldn't get this forum working before. I figure that since this is more specialised it is a better place to ask.

Win Vista has been giving terrible headache (the admin perms playing hell with where the files go). i';ve spent the last night and a half troubleshooting and i've finaly got it installed BUT

Most tihngs work. Cmapaign seems to activate. But i scripted in a Valhalla (in a random system to test) with the LV script 1.4 and it ahs no poitn to point jump drive. Nor does any other M0. It has a regular vanilla jump drive (no point to point accessible either by CTRL +J or navigation menu).

I did the installatione xactly as prescribed: vanilla install --> 2.5 --> bonus pak --> XTM .74 (i tried leavinig ou bonus pack, didn't make a diference).

SO effectively i can't use any M0s at all. Its not a problem because it will be a while before i get to M0s, but i think this will break the game eventually by requiring a reinstall, os i am heistant to start yet.

PLease help. I've been at this for hours and my head is going to explode.

Hmm, that's strange. The Valhalla should be able to do a P2P jump once you have a normal Jumpdrive installed (though it is only available in the Navigation menu (rather at the bottom of it) and not by Shift-J)

where is this p2p option? all i see in the emnu is "jumpdrive, universe, sector map, best price"

OK, trying to point you to it just from memory and hopefully "hit" the right shortcuts (been doing this for so long it's become rather automatic for me )

If your piloting the ship yourself, press Shift-C (I think) to open the ship command menu.

For an AI-piloted ship simply select it from either the sector map or your property list, then select commands.

Top most entry on the list you now see should be Navigation.
Select it and you'll see a lot of navigation commands (dock, go to position, etc., depending a bit on the installed upgrades). Scroll down through the list and there should be one called P2P Jump near the bottom of the list.
That's the one.

You will find the p2p in navigation at the bottle of the commands.

The P2P is indeed the last command on the list of the nav.-commands. In contrast to the normal jumpdrive it even functions without nav.-software MK I as I found out!
