afaik this feature has been disabled for TC, most of the stuff hints that it was actually implemented / planned
Has anyone out there actually been boarded yet? By that I mean; does the AI use the new boarding sysem or is it just the player? You can invest in all these new security systems like internal defence lasers, marines, hull polarization and firewalls but are they actually of any use?
As far as I know - please correct me if I'm wrong - the only ships to use barding pods are missile M7's and the pirates don't have any. One of the things I was looking forward to was dealing with my frigate being boarded by pirate mercenaries but I don't see any sign of that ever happening. It's even strongly hinted at in the game manual, have I been misled?

Please... don't give the EvilAssassin to much input
I don't think it's possible for the AI to complete a task like this. But it was planned my Titan can hold 20 Marines, if he wants to. Personally i'm happy that this feature isn't active. I'm not a fan of capping, before they enable this i'd like to have real enemies with a proper behaviour. The game always spawns caps and Qs with high quality weapons close to the gate when you enter. So if you do a quick jump to a second gate and move in slowly, you can get them down with PIK 4-6 shots and get real good weapons.
No real need to capture something. There IS nothing worth to be captured. Maybe the Hyperion or the Agamemnon, but what else? There are no pirates left after several days, i have some random Qs roaming from Menelaus Frontier to Family Zyarth and that's it. As long as i don't declare my personal war on a whole race there is nothing. *shrug* The current state is ok for me, although it's a shame they cut off this feature
I agree there isn't enough to shoot at. I've made two extra difficulty modes for Cmod3 that add some serious enemy opposition. On topic: I can't see now the boarding wouldn't work in reverse. As far as I can see, all the AI would have to do is fire a boarding pod and get the script to run on the ship, if it is the player's ship then they get ejected on successful capture.
I know, i tested and enjoyedit
I haven't seen any successful usage of missiles by the AI in my game. Considering the strange behaviour of M8 i don't think the AI is able to handle a fight with rockets.
The other thing is, and that's why i mentioned the enemies above, who should board the player? Pirates don't have a M7M, or am i wrong? Xenon also don't have M7M, and i never encountered the Khaak outside of missions... ok, the normal roaming Cluster is here and there. So, who should be the evil enemy who is boarding the player ship ? I think it's fine like it is now. I really would love to see more stuff to shoot at before there is a new capping feature introduced I want back Kaos Mistake.... This spam of Qs in Xenon sectors isn't a battle, it's just annoying.
....Btw, Xenon seem to have P2P jumpdrive. If i destroy a Xenon shipyard in this %$§(/&&&!!!!! Xenon Core sector, why the hell i'm getting a constant spam of Ks/Js/Qs and everything else marching through Black Hole Sun on their bare feet? I don't get the point. I think there was someone missing the outdated Xenon Migration (If you aren't rich enough yet that's the way to get more victims than you can handle)
