man this is what x3 is all about ... if someone will do this for you then there is no fun...
I have the funds and infrastructure to start looking into developing a few frigates and cruisers into combat fleets. I figured I would ask to see what has worked well for other players.
While I understand that there are alot of ships to choose from and some better than others, but I am looking more for information on the best way to coordinate a fleet.
Do you have any particular mods that you would not survive without?
How do you setup your supply ships to manage logisitics?
A breif talk through an encounter would help put some things in perspective.
Cheers

LOL good point
Interested in what people do and what works well, I hear that scripts tend to lag out in big fights. But then there are some things you just dont do with out scripts (boarding). So just looking at what peoples preferences are, I play a pure x3tc so to save frustration its worth an ask.
well i also use a vannila TC except a script that allows me to buy the ATF ships and terran stations ... but i would recommend the Combat mod form ulfius ... it was great in X3R . also id like to suggest you use a weapon/turret changer script (unless you want to do it by yourself in the middle of the fight) .

And as for controlling the fleets? Good luck with that, I don't think it can be done well. But I'd recommend a fleet of M7s over a M2 or 2. They are far faster and have a wide range of weapons and present a smaller target to enemies. So, yeah, go for the M7's and maybe put em in a wing? I like to have four jump in (one to a gate) and send a fifth in to finish the job. I recommend the teladi M7 for the blockade role, they are slow and heavily armored. For the pursuing role, go for a split tiger

Thanks for you reply, Draxis, and another thanks for the Pirate Guide, I have just setup a Spacefuel station on your recommendation (in Hatikvah's Faith instead of Elena's Fortune) and its making a killing

Anytime mate, I've yet to come out with a TC guide, but that will come soon enough. I hardly ever use stations anymore, the capturing works brilliantly for me and I use it nearly exclusively now. Any other questions?
