Hawkbs' ES thread

Well see heres the deal. I used to be extremely efficient in making new Models and minor graphics modding in the newer Xboxort Star Trek for PC game that cameout. I promptly stopped when I realised the game company was not going to fix their horrid Xbox360 port and left.

I really only made models as part of a large ship modding team (i can't wrap my head around textures and how to do all that mess so ya..). Could you by chance point me in the direction of an excellent X3 modeling/texturing/ship-building tut that you know of? I am having a world's death of a time trying to find anything on these forums because of all the cluttering and organization issues that seem to plague these forums .

Not really trying to complain or anything just trying to say it is REALLY hard to find things your looking for here (search function isn't finite and is cluttered as well just doing a search for "Tutorials" or "Ship making Tutorial". Sorry for my XTM noobishness .

Hello to all, i finally decided to register after visiting this site for about a year!! Great work i must say, love the progress been made!!!

Just one little problem, i was wondering if anyone could help me with.
I had completed the main X3 game, and bala missions, had a great reputation could get access all types of weapons and ships with different races. So i started to try out the mod ships from BSG (which are fracking cool) all was going smoothly until my hard-drive decided to die!

To make a long story short, i had a back up of my save game files, but they wont work anymore, cause of Mod elements and extra Bala missions! Which is a pain in the ar*e cause i dont want to have to start from the beginning again!!!

So to all the good folks here i was just wondering if anyone knew of a solution to my problem, (before x3 gets thrown out the window).

you need to install your game upto the same patch and install all the mods (and sometimes scripts) that you were using before your hd fried for your save games to be compatible

if that doesn't work then probably your problem didn't only damage your hd it damaged your save aswell

also probably not the best forum to post a question like this probably best suited in the x3 forum

First of all - Welcome Solaris - glad you took the plunge!

I take that what your aiming is to reinstall everything back as they were before your hard drive died. From my experience with ship installer with BSG XSPs (can't say I've tried any other XSPs!) reinstalling XSPs will sometimes will give the message that the savegame is corrupted.

You might be lucky.... maybe its worth asking Cycrow in his 'Problems with ship installer thread' on ES modding forums.

If all else fails.....
i) Use the cheat script to get your empire back quickly.....

ii) Don't throw your copy of X3 - try out Xtended (see the main forum) since it does require a restart.

Much to my disdain, non of the ships are working when I install them into X3. Installed into the proper folders, through the ship installer. Any ideas what is wrong?

I assume that your discussing Hawkbs BSG ships (therefore moved post to here)

If your still having problems - note specifically what steps you have done and whatever else you may have installed..

Yeah, I am indeed using the Hawks models. I still can't get them to work. I have the cockpit mod installed and a few minor scripts. But when i go into a new game and try to spawn them to make sure they are working none of them show up. I've reinstalled the game several times already... I haven't found a help topic as to how I can properly install these ships. I'm using the plugin manager and everything... but apparently I'm missing something...
