      Question

      Hi,

I've installed X3 reunion with New horizon mod. At first the FPS was all good, then it started dropping as I explored sectors... down to 5-8 fps, which makes combat a pain. My CPU isn't even at half load for all cores, any tweaks have failed.

I've looked everywhere for troubleshooting info and found nothing.

If someone has any idea how to fix this please tell me.

The drop is pretty permanent, but gets worse when a lot is happening.

I get very good FPS out of previous saves. Seems fine until a while (9h into the game). New games are fine...

Reinstalling drivers and directx didn't do anything, defrag was unsuccessful.

I get 80+ fps on a new game (custom or regular), 20fps in a save 45min. before the 5fps bit. As I move from sector to sector, fps drops more and more until it stabilizes around 5fps.

I'm going from "the vault" to "Argon Prime" in Normal difficulty.

      Thx.

EDIT: real time until complete fps degradation is ~9h.

roger that. I have only the New Horizon mod installed, although I did have the pilot AI III, Waypoint cmd, Turret control, and Nav. override at the start (I deactivated them all when the problem started)

I'm not sure whether this is the case with your system, but when I first installed X3:Reunion I had a similar problem...

Make sure you're right up to date on patches, 2.5 is the latest patch for Reunion, and, most important, make sure you have GOOD anti-spyware and anti-malware software installed. Software working in the background kills frame rates big time, so stop all services and checks you're not using at the time too...

I only have an old Q6600, and the only thing slows down my system, in game, is very large complexes, and only in their home sectors.

      Good luck pilot
