Do you have the Cargo Life Support System installed in your ship?
I don't know if it is possible to catch the astronaut without it, but if you can catch him without he doesn't stay alive and you just killed him.
Scarab mission
So, i'm running XTM 0.7.5 unmodified in any way.
I start the mission in the Boron Krait and I stick with it. I jump to Two Grand, dock, undock and go to find the astronaut. Everything fine, I pick him up and he tells me to go to station XXX in the sector Z (tried the mission 2 times, every time different station in different sector). I jump there, dock at the stupid station and...nothing. No other message ever comes. I have tried the mission twice in different ships.
What do I do wrong?

here is a link to the walkthrough for that mission, but i think something odd is happening for you. When you dock at that station (where the lab is supposed to be) you should receive the coordinates and instructions on your next step. Some things you can try to see if the mission is going on:
check your comms log
check the station comms
try to undock from the station and dock again (don't use docking computer for that)

I do have the Cargo Life Support.
And yes, I had the shields down while scooping up the astronaut.

I have tried redocking without docking computer (just SETA). No additional message shows up. I am not sure what you mean with "station comms". I had no incoming comm, nothing in the message log. I even left the system and came back, through the gate without using the JD.

with 'check station comms' i mean checking if on the station there is someone you can talk to - i don't remember how i did the mission step by step... it was some time ago...

Ok, that I did already. The first time I have tried it was at the Yaki Eq. Dock in Haruna. There was nobody to talk to. The second time it was the Split Trading Port in Kao's Dominion. There were only 3 Split at the station. I have spoken to all of them and there were only the normal options: way to shipyard, surrender and another option, but none having anything to do with the mission...Originally Posted by stemardue

hmm...let's my friend.To be honest i did this mission long time ago,about a year or so.Best thing to do is to read the waltroough for the mision stemardue provided,chec that the requirements for the mission are fulfilled or just load an older save game before you first contacted the scarab...hope you will solve it.Also make sure your cargo bay wasn't full when you tried to pick up the astronaut.
Otherwise i see no other problem why the mission shouldn't work

I did not have the the cargo bay full since I have jumped twice from the Otas Hq. to Two Grand and to pick the astronaut and to get to the lab.
Hi cezarip.
I don't think this is the cause of your issue, but you don't need to have your shields down - because you don't need to scoop up the astronaut.
If you pilot your ship close to the astronaut (I think within 3km is close enough) and stop, he will transport on board automatically after the dialogue.
