Cannot manually dock at Teladi Showroom

When trying to manually dock a fighter at a Teladi showroom the hangar bay doors open but when you try to pass into the hangar you are greeted with an invisible wall. I tried many different approaches at different speeds and angles to no avail. I was about ready to give up and post here about it when an npc fighter flew right by me into the bay no problem. At that point I was very confused, so on a hunch I hit the autopilot dock, on autopilot I flew straight into the bay no problems. I don't see how that is even possible unless the auto dock feature disables collision with the target you are trying to dock with.

The fighter was the Kite Raider you get with the Teladi start.

This took place at the showroom in Superstitious Revenue, I haven't tried at any others but I suspect that its a model issue and as such they'll all suffer from it.

X3TC Steam Version, have Trickmov's STO 1.56 running.
