Default Been away for a while ......clearing cobwebs.... need help

So far having fun playing Xtended.

      Couple questions though

      1. Where did the Asteroid mapping command go?

      2. Are Pandora crate in Xtended?

      3. Yes, I know that it might be possible that those ?s were asked but I have over a year of stuff to sift through here

More questions may (will) follow, dont flame me......please

      Hiya Peeps,

      @Kosh Vorlontay........
      Hiya mate,
1: The asteroid mapping command can now be found under the "Navigation Command" menu....

2: Umm, I think they are, however they are now in extremely random locations... you'll see a notice pop up in the GNS (a remake of the BBS system that can also be accessed whilst in space.. IE: can be accessed while both docked to a station or floating around in sector) talking about the automated Argon Exploration Ship "Pandora" discovering Upgrades floating around in a sector "either way above or below the ecliptic" of sector that they have no recollection of visiting....

      HTH,

      Cheers & Thranx

      OMG!!!!!

I was playing and in the middle of a Khaak invasion when I was booted out of the game. When trying to go back into the game it reloaded my computer!

The worst part is that the computer could not load cause the boot.ini was missing or corrupt!!!!!!

Had to go into the Recovery Console and rebuild it from scratch. Tried running X3TC and it did it again!!!!

Ummmmmm,,,,,,,,,, I think that something major is wrong with the game now

If your computer has issues with booting - and is missing files such as boot.ini - then get someone who knows computer stuff to check your system asap. It's not the game, something is VERY wrong with your computer. A failing harddrive, possibly.

I think it's safe to say that something is wrong with your pc not the xtc mod.

Edit, Eliah just beat me to it and I support his advice.

A problem with the boot sector almost certainly means failing HD (which does happen).

I am a computer tech...... scanned drive, no problems detected but then again it could be at the beginning of the failure and was the first hiccup of many to come.

Yet another expense to add to the list..... sigh

Then you should use some tool to read the smart-stats of your hard-drive. I would suggest the "system rescue cd" - it comes with a boot-image of MHDD. There you should have a look at the "Reallocated Sectors Count"-attribute. If your drive has reallocated sectors, that would hint to a soon to come failure.

Failures can come out of the blue though, I've once had a drive die on me and it had no ill effects at all. I was just minding my daily routine and then my screen went black for a while and then I got a pop-up one of my raid drives had failed (not a system drive, so that's why it probably didn't fail catastrophically on me). I tried reformatting the drive and some other things but it really didn't work anymore. Good thing though that it was raided because that meant I could just pop in a new drive and be on my way again, my bank account on the other hand was a lot less happy especially because I decided to upgrade to a couple of higher capacity drives xD
