Default Enemy at the Gate - Walkthrough = Massive spoilers

First, a big thank you to the Xtended team for this great plot and mod.
Thanks to Loriel for giving me the mission names and Exedar for reminding me about a part I forgot about and 2blackhawk for forcing me to do this
      Title:Enemy at the Gate
Synopsis:spoiler: Assist the Boron in locating a missing exploration vessel, find out what casued the loss of this vessel and deal with the hostiles

Requirements:spoiler: Boron rank 3 and Terran rank 1, Extended Rift to have been revealed, sectors 404, 406 and 304 are used in the first mission these have to be revealed for the plot to start. Also it should be noted that the Kha'ak and Xenon can break the plot if they expand into Boron space, so keep them in check. Sectors 404, 406 and 304 also need to be unknown sectors.

Difficulty:spoiler: Varies as there are a lot of factors at play during this plot

      spoiler: Search Party
      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler: Pirate kestrel

You will be contacted by a Boron name Lar Borilaus and they are looking for assistance in finding a missing exploration vessel the KE Tidejumper
Head to Extended Rift with a fast m5 and when you are ready the mission will start.
Its nice and simple follow the group till you find the KE Tidejumper enjoy the nice textures for the model and then continue on. As you head back to 404 the xenon will begin invading and the station Freeport will be at risk. Tama urges you to race to extended rift and inform Lars of the invasion. You will be told to dock at the trading station and a jump beacon will be loaded on to your ship. You then have to place the jump beacon between 15km and 10km of Freeport so the RBN can come to the rescue.
Its all straight forward and you can stay and watch the battle(or join in) and the refugees fleeing in the rare Goner ships.

      spoiler: Behind Enemy Lines
      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler: Pirate kestrel

More flying around in a m5 and you will be following Tama Bo and taking the lead in later parts, first head to 404 where Tama will decide to follow a P and its escorts. So hang back and just tail them, they head to Serroco Prime where there is some comedy gold from Tama, after this its off to the xenon core sectors.
Its possible that Tama's ship will get destroyed but he will be ejected from his ship with a cargo life support system, this happened on my second playthrough while I was in a sector behind him, I picked him up and the mission continued on as normal.
In x203 you will investigate the station and it will require you to stay close to the station for around 2minutes until the scan is complete. If Xenon are around teh station its possible to hide right up inside the super structure of the station to allow the scan to complete
Then its just a dash for Extended Rift.

      Supply Run

      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler: Drake

Talk to Lar at the trading station in Extended Rift, he will tell you that the KE Blue Depths is fighting at the front lines and is heavily damaged
You will need a TS with 1700 cargo space to get some materials so the KE Blue Depths can reapir the worst of the damage it sustained in the fight
Head to the trading station in Sudden Assault and talk to an engineer to pick up the materials
Return to Extended Rift and deliver the materials to the KE Blue Depths near the West-gate where it is fighting the Xenon, you might have to deal with some M, L and P
The KE Blue Depths will be partialy repaired and you go talk to Lars at the trading station to finish the mission.

      Prophecy

      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler: Angel

You will be sent to contact a boron historian/scientist by the name "Fala Mo", the research station is in Ancient Settlement and its an interesting looking structure powered by green goo, take note of the docked ship and its pilot. The docked ship will undock and make a run for the south gate ignore it and dock and listen to Fala. He will board your ship and you can try and give chase but in end you have to return to the station so that Fala can collect whats left of his work.

      Convoy Duty

      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler: Angel

You will be sent to see Cmdr M Jackson(original game), he needs you to help escort the terran diplomats into pirate space. There is a decent sized ATF escort along so you won't need to do much just protect the ATF TP Loki, I had a few m6's, m3's and m4's spawn.

      Search and Rescue

      Difficulty:spoiler: Medium
      Ship Used:spoiler: Angel

First off when accepting this mission do it as soon as possible as there can be issues if you delay completion of the mission.
Fala has sent you a cryptic message to help find him, its simple south, west, west, south of where we first met so thats the unknown sector south of Glow of Faith, The Orca sould be at the following co-ordinates
      50-15-20
Yes the dashs are actually minus
Its an Orca so nice and easy to see, it seems he sent Tama on a recon mission in Xenon space looking for Winters.
Head to Xenon 203 and you will see poor Tama floating in space, a lot of xenon where attacking but he has a super space suit so can't be hurt.
I tried this with a m0 first but Tama disappeared as soon as I got close, same with a m2 and I was killed in a m7, in the end I used an angel with around 60 fighter drones of different types.
I used them at first to help me then dropped the whole lot and sent them to protect Tama.
This stopped the xenon from attacking Tama so I made a dash and picked him up.
You then have to collect his date storage device, do not use the cargo transporter instead just run over it.

      Base of Operations

      Difficulty:spoiler: Medium
      Ship Used:spoiler: Boreas/Taipan

Jackson wants you to help the ATF set up a forward base as the negotiations have failed.
The ATF's escort is formiddable so you won't have much to do just protect the TL.
Xenon ships that spawned where K, J, P's and some fighters.
On my playthrough the station was not placed till I had actually completed the mission so just do what the mission guidance says and everything should be OK.
During my second playthrough the first Asgard bailed, 2 more where destroyed before I was able to complete the mission.

      On the Offensive

      Difficulty:spoiler: Medium - Hard
      Ship Used:spoiler: Olympos/Taipan

Meet lar in Extended Rift and he will give you your instructions, the goal is to remove all xenon presence from 404 and 304. This mission is random in its difficulty as there are a lot of factors at play. The xenon presence in 404 was substanial but spread out and on my playthrough the Boron bore the brunt of the attack. I used a m0, 2 m2's and a m7m, the m7m turned out to be useless since there are too many captial ships in sector and they all like to use their ecm's making missiles very uneffective. In the end all I needed was my m0.
The move to 304 was actually hard as nearly all the allied ships where destroyed so it was just me but still should be possible with the right assets.
This mission took me around 4 hours but was very enjoyable and the loot can be substanial if you are lucky.
I think you get your first reward after this mission its the ATF Asgard TL which you helped to escort before, its a very good reward but can't remotely dock at shipyards so similar to the Atmospheric lifter. It can also dock capital ships ie M1, M2.

      Winters Discontent

      Difficulty:spoiler: Medium
      Ship Used:spoiler: Olympos/Taipan

So from Tama's data storage device they have been able to track down Winters, now its up to you to help put an end to his manipulations.
His hideout is a pirate base in xenon 301
Its straight forward, clear the sector of xenon and protect the TP's.
There was a J and full fighter complement in sector aswell as some scattered fighters and after the TP's arrived in sector 2-3 Q's, P's and some fighters came after.
On my second playthrough the Xenon response fleet was a mix of K's and J's.

      Aftermath

      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler: Angel

Bring Fala to the military outpost in Pandoras Gate, he is at the EQ dock in Glow of Faith.
This is when you get the real reward for the mission the blueprints for the xenon "I" which is a pretty good ship although very hard to outfit with weapons and takes nearly 7 days to build.

      Loose Ends

      Difficulty:spoiler: Easy
      Ship Used:spoiler:

You are given a hour to decide if you want to buy the military outpost in 406 for cheap.
It can be picked up with TL that has a tractor beam mounted and is close.
Its an ok deal but the thing is huge, it functions as an equipment dock with 15k storage.

There is also a hidden reward and that is xenon activity in 304, 404 and 406 will be reduced for awhile, this plot is the best opportunity to get your hands on ATF ships.

      Many thanks for doing this.

It will be a while before I get far enough to actually do this for myself, but I think your missing name in the spoiler: Prophecy section is spoiler: Mo - i.e. "Fala Mo"

Having spellchecked the text files I now know where to look for the names - however this doesn't mean I know what actually happens in the mission.

      @Mods

what about a Subforum dedicated to XTC Lore? You could disable threat opening in that sub forum to prevent spamming and people still need to post the walkthroughs in general discussion, but if they are good, a mod could move it to the sub forum, so it stays on top and easy to find. in addition a stickied threat with links to all the threats would be nice. i just believe, a couple of threat will be opened now with lore/walkthroughs. sure they might go to the wiki eventually but the forum is just better for discussions and questions.

ah yes and in addition we could remove those annoying spoilers.

      therefore we have the wiki

      see for example

Sohnen Observer Mission (Part 1) (Walkthrough)

@insolent1 as you have made it already like the example would you mind to do the format and color thing the same then it can be brought to the wiki directly? Reputation for your work!

I think i might be ablo to help you out a bit.

      spoiler: Supply Run

      - Talk to Lar Borilaus at the Trading Station in Extended Rift, he will tell you that the KE Blue Depths is fighting at the front lines and is heavily damaged
      - You will need a TS to get some Materials so the KE Blue Depths can fix the worst damage it sustained on the fly
      - Go to the Trading Station in Sudden Assault and talk to some Engineer (cant remember the name) to pick up the materials (were about 1.700 units as far as I recall)
      - Go to the front lines in Extended Rift and deliver the materials to the KE Blue Depths near the West-gate where it is fighting the Xenon, you might have to deal with some M, L and P
      - The KE Blue Depths will be partialy repaired and you go talk to Lar Borilaus at the Trading Station to finish that mission

      just my 2 cents

I have it done, added some filler stuff and saved it, but if I edit the post any text in colour can be seen through the spoiler.

Just try it and I will help out. If it will not work we have a special forum where threads like these can be prepared without being visible for the other users. If you agree to become a Review team member you will be added to the group (just PM me).
Another way is to make it without spoilers and just warn the users in the title not to open.

I think it needs a bit more on starting conditions.

A post by Dillpickle indicates it's not starting for some people, and bug is being fixed - see thread at http://www.thexuniverse.com/forums/1...erran-Conflict

Alternatively it's possible that more than spoiler: Extended Rift needs to be open.

For me, I satisfy the rank requirements, and spoiler: Sector 404 has just opened as well , and I am in a sector owned by the appropriate race, but I see no sign of the mission starting.

Give it some time and keep an eye on sector ownership and it should start.

As it happens, another plot has just started for me so I will be busy doing that for a while, and will keep an eye open for developments in this one.

      EDIT
      Update
Plot has now started - looks as if the trigger was probably spoiler: Sector 406 which had opened a short time earlier - I had explored it, dropped an Advanced Sat and was fighting Xenon elsewhere (in Paranid territory) when the message arrived.

Other factors which might possibly be relevant:
Checking back after the message arrived, I see that spoiler: Serocco Prime is now open, but I haven't visited it yet.
Also open and visited : spoiler: Sector 404, Sector 304, Xenon Sector 204
Open but not visited : spoiler: Xenon Sector 104 (and probably Xenon Sector 203 - I had been offered a "deliver a Jumpdrive there" mission a while previously, but hadn't found a gate to it yet, nor taken the mission.
Not yet open: whatever lies north of spoiler: Sector 404.
      END EDIT
