      [glow=limegreen,2,300]Not sure about it being do-able but would be nice to see background fluff. Rogue comets crashing into stations (movable astroid that damages a station and player is needed for people transport or vital repair parts.) Black holes, Solar flares, space anomalies, defecting pirates needing assistance to reach safe space (message sent to player at a certain faction for certain race). Strange nebulas that disrupt shields disrupts sensors or speed (deactives shields/kills sensors/ drops speed down to 1/4 max). Stuff like that and maybe having the space flies migrate. Just my 2 creds worth this early in the morning. [/glow]

      i don\'t think the asteroid bit is do-able the nebula is kinda hard i am not sure how its done i will look through the tutorials

      [glow=limegreen,2,300]Im thinking the asteroid is doable. Build a ship that looks like a floating chunk of rock. (comet graphics) and give it a slow speed and have it follow something. Maybe a planet or some far off object. That way it would follow it until it got to close and then swing wide to come back at it. Also set it to have a very high hull hitpoint with no shields. Then other ships would have to get out of the way or they would fly into it. By making it a ship with rock graphics you could then have missions that need to have you destroy it before a set time or before it gets to close.[/glow]

      It might work, but ships do tend to avoid other ships automatically. Might require a lot of scripting changes to AI to get it to work.

      very difficult to do,

      1. as mokonzi said alot of scripting would need to be done,

      2. and it might also need the jobfiles so it would be a Mod ~ i can\'t do mods :-[

      3. i just like to get the point accross

      Ok, here\' a very good i dea i\'ve been breeding for a while. And it\'s quite doable....

      Let\'s say you have several patrol routes in the argon sectors to keep those pesky Khaaks at bay. Let\'s say you have one Centaur followe by 2 novas an 4 busters and another patrol a wing of 3 novas. And of course, nobody uses missiles or mass drivers for patrols in X3 because it\'s HELL to keep all your patrolls suppied with missiles.

      Enter: Automatic supplier

      It\'s a software you place on a ship, preferabily one with HUGE cargo bays (like a TL). Then you set the ship to patrol a list of certain sectors. For instance the argon sectors near argon prime. What it does is to dispatch any of it\'s docked ships or any of its followers to supply all your ships in the same sector as neded.

      For instance take that nova patrol i mentioned above. You set up each nova to receive supplies (maybe an aditional command or somethig). For instance i\'d liek to make sure it has enough ammo and missiles. I set up each ship to keep a stock of 20 ammo units and 15 silkworms.

      Now each time the supplier comes nearby he sees the nova that only has 15 ammo left, and if he has enough ammo in it\'s cargo it dispatches a nice disco hauler that was trailing it to supply the Nova. So simple and so effective ! And all you have to do is make sure the supplier doesnt run out of supplies, instead of taking care of every single fighter in a fleet of 100.......

      The same thing if he goes in a sector and mets the centaur that just ran out of hornet missiles! Of course, you have to tell the centaur to keep a supply of 30 missiles... and when he\'ll meet the supplier, he\'ll get them.

      The same thing can be used for energy cells supply and imagine what it would mean to know that you ALWAYS have a fast intervention wing ready to jump to your aid without you needing to check if all of them have enough EC? Do they have missiles ? Did only 3 out of 5 fighters jump because the other 2 run out of cells and they are about to take the long route trough Xenon sector 347 just to come to you ...... I think you see why this script is needed.....


      NOTES:

      - you should use both docked ships and following ships to make supply runs. that is because sometimes you\'ll have to use TLs as suppliers. But sometimes you wont but a TL just to keep 2-3 sectors supplied. You just buy a nice TP followed by 2 M5 and protected by 2 M4. Fast AND cheap. Note you should not use the ships defending the supplier.

      - you can use XAI corporation\'s Fleet supply script. Im sure that moggy2 will give you the permision and it will make the supply run from the supplier to the ship easy to implement. All you have to do is to make sure you transport the requirements aboard the mini-supplier (the M5 that is following the follower for instance)

      - you can use the patrol script to set up the supplier\'s patrol route
