Default Terran M0 (this time for real)

      Terran Valhalla Class SuperBattleship

      Phase I

      Phase II

      Size-Chart Terran Fleet

      BBS Entry:

      Code:
The Valhalla Super Battleship was designed to be the flagship of the Terran Sol fleet. It was a triumph of Terran modular technology, a pre-fabricated super-starship, largely made up of component sections.
The design cut back greatly on construction time and dramatically cut the cost of each vessel. As capital ship shortages plague the Terrans due to ever increasing skirmishes with a yet to be identified superior oponent, the Valhalla remains a highly impressive vessel they can turn out on a
semi-regular basis from their Very Large Shipyard Array, orbiting above Mars.

Valhalla's are designed to forge into almost any combat situation.
When planetary landings are necessary, they have room to carry legions of Cyborgs, Terran Tank-Drones and shock Terran Elite Commando Troopers. Its hangar bay can handle a full combatwing of 64 Vidar assault corvettes, all of which can be serviced on demand by the extensive onboard repair facilities. However, as shortages rock the Terran Navy, it is extremely rare for these vessels to carry a full complement unless their particular mission calls for it.

Because of its modular design, Valhalla's can be modified for specific mission profiles. Some specialized vessel services include prefab garrison deployers, troop transports, Vidar launch platforms, heavy vehicle recovery, and planetary assault vessels that can carry up to five giant Terran Crusher Walkers.

Unconfirmed reports speak of at least 1 Valhalla being converted to carry the experimental Terran Jupiter missile. This weapon suposedly yields enough destructive force to make a entire sector implode into a microsized black-hole. Military Experts contradict the possibility of such a weapon actually existing in the strongest of words, claiming it to be a concept of utterly impractical design as surely the vessel firing the missile would end up a victim of the resulting dammage itself. This argument -however valid it might come across at first glance- doesn't explain the numerous 'lost' contacts with Gate and mid-sector Locator Beacons over the recent mazuras.

For all of its benefits to the Terran Fleet, the Valhalla has some glaring defects. The most obvious and costly problem concerns the vessel's modular design. Well-placed hits during combat can knock out whole systems or weapons batteries as the modular connections fail.
The open framework also allows for daring pilots to exploit the countless blind-spots in the Valhalla's primary defence grid. At the time of its design, this was considered only a minor flaw-- after all, the Terrans were fixated upon the concept of disposable components. Now that resources are rare, prior wasteful policies have truly hampered efforts to make the vessels useful in combat.

Despite these flaws, the bulk of the Terran Valhalla's remains around the Sol system, where it can be called upon to meet and deal with the most fearsome of opponents and emerge from these encounters victorious without doubt thus safeguarding the Terran race it's powerbase whilst simultaniously allowing for it's ongoing expantion across the gulf of space.

will this big thing be able to fit in gates on its own or is it borrowing the levis P2P feature?

+ it doesnt look like a christmass tree which some have accused the small terran ships of resembling.

my one reservation is that at the moment the terran emc weapons cause a lot of system lag, even my brand new x1800 stutters when a batch of 10 gets fired.

      XFP quality?
I think you should have a closer look.
With 200K polys this hardly qualifies as a undetailed ship.
If anything you are lucky if it doesnt run your system into the ground.

just been looking at the xfp ships the quality varies massively from the poorly named \'penatron\' to the awful Gorellik Hurricain. (shouldnt that be hurricane?)

i no longer trust renders as the ships always look much better in motion in game.
