      Default Let's hear your TC stories

      OK TC has been out for a while now, and with the 1.3 patch it has almost become playable.

      In a weak half-assed attempt to liven up the Journals section of the site (TXU Journal's Section) lets hear your war torn stories.

      They can be about anything you like.

      A good example might be to start a new game and keep a log of it in a mini-story format.

      Or maybe you just want to tell us about your high points (That 20 ship capping mission you managed in your M3 by the skin of your teeth.) or your low points (NovaCatt's woes).

      Whatever you want to tell us about is up to you, but make it interesting.

      Ok, AS check this out..I restarted my game recently, and have worked up to a TM I use as a drone carrier, and missile boat. It works ok, but a little light..(Teladi TM)..I have done some missions since I capped a few fighters and have 2 with me at all times. I have had 2 xenon P ships go blue with maybe 10% hull left and thought...oh, wow, a corvette! WRONG....with the new capping software set to 20% for M6 ships..I get few attempts, but even in a spacesuit, these ships are NOT cappable so far. After they turn blue, you cant claim them even manually...I dont even have SCS yet or any other capping program...and in a suit theres no 'claim" coming up, even at 12 meters. I cant have my fighters finish it because its blue...and my turrets wont kill it either, so I rammed it with 600 meg in shields...disgusting for a man using a TM..lol.

      ok well mines kinda short but im sure to have a better one later down the line, so i was chillin in heritics end just accepted a new mission right, at this point in time i was a noob so i had like me and 1 other capped ship, so im supposed to head over to circle of labor and patrol so i just chilled a lil in heritics while i got my stuff all ready up, by the time i got there almost all the super freighters and a few fighter ships were abandoned because of an atk, so here i am my noob self running around all of CoL collecting every lil super freight and ship i can possibly find thinkin i was kick but...ended up with like 10 ships capped from that area. i was happy that day. defiantly gonna have to post up an epic battle story for you guys later.

      I was doing the Terran Start with a few scripts running and I was trying to figure a good way to make money in terran space. I had 1000 credits and no software or anything and then a Xenon J jumped in and picked a fight with the Terrans. I have the Bail Signal Extension script running and yeah, the J bailed. I got 14 million in credits at the start, and no cheating!

      Default Annoying Situation

      Just thought I'd share a very annoying situation in the Grand Exchange I have going on.

      I was doing a sector trade there with my Demetri, only protected by an Elite and a Discoverer (which had been working fine up until then). Suddenly this f*****n Xenon Q shows up in the sector and WONT LEAVE lol. There is no military or patrols there to take him out, so he just flys around attacking whatever is out in the open. My Demetri kept randomly undocking (forced out via other dock requests?) so I sent his escorts to hideout in a neighboring sector.

      So after making numerous attempts to take out the Q (I'm in a Cutlass now) , ANOTHER ONE SHOWED UP! lol. So now there's two Q's and I have no backup, and no wingman that would be useful in a fight against something that size. Needless to say I had to abandon the sector by swapping over my JumpDrive and having my kestrel head down to the Atreu HQ to grab me another one. Oh so frustrating lol.

      thought I'd share. Once I get a bigger ship I'm going back to kick their asses

      You may want to try the Race Patrols script. Many users (myself included) use this script because of the dumb race military in TC.

      Please be careful of what words you choose to use when expressing yourself on the forums. We have young children who view this site as well as adults.

      Greed Kills..... I have learned that lesson way too many times - and still repeat my mistakes because of it. Running the Computer Component Capture script, I have accepted station protection missions more than a few times. Usually the enemy is a Pirate M6 or a P, which I can strip of shields and transfer over a computer component, then just mosey away till the ship becomes mine.

      Unfortunately, the way the game works, if you cap the ship, it spawns another. And so on. Well, I get to thinking, hey - easy money since I can just keep capping till I run out of computer cores.... I had 4 M6's captured and sitting still - got happy and overconfident - and the 5th M6 had PBG's (or what I call the dreaded flamethrowers of death) and roasted my M3. No salvage insurance - so I again had a few choice words for my own greed.......

      Remember - Jesus saves - but so do wise gamers..... (unless your playing DID)

      This is the current state of my DID game running no "cheat" scripts.

      Started a custom game, and had limited success in my argon buster. Seemed every mission or trade run barely broke even. I felt like a bankrupt assassin - except I was struggling to kill anyone.... Lets face it - a buster is no trade ship, and when you have very limited credits and one ship, your faced with trade or combat. Combat being more dangerous, I did all I could to increase my credroll, but the going was slow. I had lucked up with a cargo of cloth rimes, and had all of about 10k total, but was still going nowhere fast. Then I found an offer for a Super Demeter for sale. Hull was way down, the bird had been stripped, and the cost was still well over 1M. Ejecting from my buster, I said goodbye to her and ordered her to dock. I then did the same in my suit, sold her with quite a twinge, and suddenly had enough dough to make the buy with some spare. Thankfully, this was still in Argon prime.

      So I jump into my new, really slow, dented and dinged ride. Geez - I thought the cargo bay in this thing was supposed to be bigger. Oh well - its XL so that alone gets me in business. After undocking - I park nearby and open up my toolbox. Before long she is in shape enough that I think she will withstand a jump gate - though I am blanked for both shields and guns. Well thats easy, I'm staying among friends. No gallivanting across the stars with this old girl - at least not until I get her decently equipped.

      A few runs north to the Ore mines and I am starting to actually make some profit. Buy at Ore Mine M alpha at 50 credits a pop - and selling them for 120 or more in Argon Prime or Home of Light. Every couple of loads stop in at a trade station and before long I have max engines, rudder and my hold is slowly growing towards its max size. Sure, its tedious, but groundwork always is.

      After a number of runs, my cargo bay is maxed, and so now my bankroll is growing well. A few jaunts around friendly areas to get some shields, my Argon rep continually improving so I can actually buy things when needed, and the "Destitute Hag" is starting to be considered spaceworthy. Still no gun though - after all - I'm a friendly merchant now.

      I swear, all the run's I have made - I must be the only freighter captain supplying ore to 2 sectors. But that means the profits are good. Its gotten to a point where every run is 50-100k in profit. Man, selling my buster gave me just enough to get the ball rolling. I break the 1M mark trading and think, this is pretty easy, though tedious.

      Soon its 2M, 3M - and so on. I keep running the routes until I can afford a Nova M (the S must stand for stripped....) and still have about 1M in the bank. Alright - now I got 2 ships - fire my freighter down to Home of Light and get TS3 installed on it. Set it to sector trading in the paranid sector thats south of HoL (though you have to go around to get there...). The paranid don't really like me, but they aren't shooting at me, so I am happy. Slowly let my rep climb as my trader does its work, and I go find a pirate sector - Farnham's something or other. Seems there is a Dukes outfit here that must be fronting for pirates, as every ship named Dukes is hostile to me. Ok - time to see what I can have fun with. My Nova isn't a porcupine yet, but she is solid. As long as there are no pirate fighters around, I can take on the lone Dukes freighter. More to come....
