      Exclamation the cerberus


      i jus got meh paws on the cerberus + 8 ships to give it the weapon/ shield loadout i wanted (omicron lyrae fails @ stocking anything useful =[) and i cant add anything to the left / right turrets

      any ideas / fixes?

      (oh and also i got the 1.4 patch)

      What are you trying to add to the Turrets, this is the link to the ship stats in the Wiki. (you probably have checked this already) Are you installing a capatible weapon.

      When you open the weapons menu, select the gun turret and highlight the install, are there a list of greyed out weapons that you can not select or are they lit up.

      Do any of the guns your trying require ammo?

      the weapons are all greyed out and unselectable =[
      and the weapons are the phased repeater gun / impulse ray emitter / particle accellator(sp?) cannon
      and the only ammo i keep in meh cargo bays are the missiles that my dead and broken enemies leave behind ;]

      and theres no wiki for the cerberus >_>
      atleast none i can find

      Hey Catra,

      There is a wiki for it, its not listed with all the other ships but under Corvette. The link I put in my last post is working fine for me.

      Not sure if it can take phased repeater gun's, but it can take IRs. (might be old Wiki info, I am at work so dont have game access, I do recall mine has one on the rear mount I think, over 160 ships gets hard to keep track)

      Do you have Fight Computer Mk 1 and 2 installed?
      Under the console, do you have any turret configuation set (Missile protect, Attack my Target).
      Are you running any mods?

      Are there any weapons installed at all, you need to uninstall before installing a new weapon.

      Last question do you have any issues installing turrets on any M3 class Fighters (Nova?)

      thats bringing me to the centaur page =p which is NOT the ship im concerned with..its the m7 frigate class cerberus which theres no wiki for

      anyway
      i got the cmod3 + extreme mode mod + 3 fluff mods that dont do nothin with ships
      both fight commands are in
      and all banks are set to protect ship
      and i can set weapons fine for anythin else
      maybe i jus aint readin the weapon loadout correctly >.>
      20 minutes of waiting to find out for the lose =p

      Yes, I see what your doing wrong here..... You listening to anything I have said so far. Its a common mistake, I often lead people astray with my good intentions.

      I have sent a PM with a PDF which I suspect might be a load layout for the Cerberus (dont even know if its for X at all infact ) I to can not find anyhting on this forum.

      I will look at my system when I get home and test it out there. Sorry about the misinfo.

      i can see why people wouldnt want to buy it / make info cards on it cause @ 36 million a pop (NOT including ship upgrades / weapons / extensions) you can have better firepower / turret coverage with 3 centaurs + a few fighter escorts so i can see alot of people skippin this for more stuff =p

      and actually..theres no info cards for any of the frigates >_>

      As far as our wiki is concerned it contains mostly information on X3 Reunion, not X3 Terran Conflict.

      But if you had taken a look into the X3 Terran Conflict Index (which you can find as a sticky at the top of the Terran Conflict section of this forum) you might have found the link to the Ship Stats: X3:TC thread.

      well i guess its a long slow haul through the universe collecting weapons and seein what works
      and thanks for the sheet the ingame weapon indicators can be a pain sometimes to read

      No need for trial and error! And there's also no need to put Impulse Ray Emitters on an M7!! Listen... you have just purchased an extremely powerful ship. You will be able to fly it right through a cloud of 20-30 Xenon fighters, and they will all explode and die around you, doing no damage to your ship... IF you put the right guns on it. If you put Impulse Ray Emitters and Particle Accelerator Cannons on it, you're going to get creamed.

      Here is a link to the Cerberus, showing what weapons are compatible with which turrets:

      Now, this web site is confusing in that it doesn't tell you which turret is which... instead, it just assigns them numbers (instead of "up," "left," etc.) However, turrets 3 and 4 are the left and right turrets. So look there to see what weapons you can mount on the left and right turrets.

      Actually, there's no need to study it too much. See where it says "Flak Artillery Array"? That's all you need to know! If you put FAA in as many turrets as possible, and then set the command for those turrets to "Attack Enemies," then enemy fighters will die with a few seconds of getting near your ship. Flak Artillery Array is THE weapon you want for your Frigates. And the Cerberus can mount them on all five turrets, so there you go. Buy yourself 10 FAAs (or build a factory to manufacture them, especially if you plan on buying more capital ships in the future) and you're all set.

      For the "main" (front mounted) guns, that's a tough call on the Cerberus. Honestly, it's the reason I don't own one. The most powerful gun it can mount is the Concussion Impulse Generator, which isn't very strong. Still, it's better than a fighter-class weapon. (If you put HEPTs or something on it, it will have the same firepower as an Argon Nova... what's the point of that??) So I'd say to put 8 CIGs on the front.

      As an alternative, you CAN mount Cluster Flak Arrays on the front. That would do a lot of damage, BUT Cluster Flak has a couple of drawbacks. If you miss your target with CFA, it goes out to its maximum range and then explodes, doing area-effect damage... and if it hits any friendly ships, it will damage and/or destroy them, and you might find yourself making new enemies very quickly. It's fine to use if you're alone in an alien sector (Xenon or Kha'ak), but I would NOT recommend using CFA in a populated sector.

      Good luck and have fun with your new M7! You have nothing left to fear except for M1 and M2 enemies, and they are rare. Even then, with the right piloting and the right missiles, you can defeat them as well. Good luck!
