      Just try and tell us!

The production rate of a mine is linked with the asteroid's content of ore. I guess, if the amount of ore is zero the product won't be produced. (Remember Math in 2. grade? Every number multiplied with zero will be zero - anything like this)

jus tried it out with my last salvage insurance =p
      and wow lol
it does produce if its mismatched
but at a insanely slow rate
(silicon on top of 11 yield ore asteroid takes 40 minutes to produce 2 wafers =p)
guess if you desperate it wouldnt be that bad lol

I believe (something I seem to recall from X3-Reunion, or X2-The threat, or my dreams, who knows) that upon that situation the game assumes the asteroid is of value of 1 (xx Ore asteroid = 1 silicon asteroid, if you build a silicon mine and vice versa). Hope that helps somehow.
