you need to to pick up the space suits floating outside the station then bring them to HE

Yeah... you totally left them floating in a hostile sector in their space suits...

When they get in trouble on board the station, the girl tells you that they can't make it back to the hangar area, so they have to leave the station through an airlock. Then you get a nice little cut scene that shows them leaving the station in their space suits. What you have to do is undock and pick them up in space... and THEN jump out ASAP.

Here are some pointers that might help:

      1. They don't seem to WANT you to catch them. Their suits can move pretty fast (must have the Enhanced Space Suit or something). This means you'll probably have to SLOW DOWN and maneuver carefully to nab them.... the normal method of freight pickup (aim at the crate and fly straight into it) did not work for me at all. I had to make SEVERAL passes in my Panther, because they would just slip past me every time. Finally I just slowed way down and sort of spun my ship around like a crazy man until it struck them and they wound up in the cargo hold. Needless to say, you MUST have a cargo life support system installed. Pretty frustrating if you didn't bring one...

      2. They go in different directions if you don't catch them right away. At least, that's what they did in my game. They wound up several kilometers apart. Not making my job any easier here, people!!

      3. If you are flying a ship with turrets.....

TURN THEM OFF BEFORE YOU UNDOCK!!!!

... because the Argon station you're docked at will go RED as soon as you leave it. I already mentioned I was in a Panther, right? Well... I had every turret except for the front loaded with Flak and set to "Attack Enemies"... so as soon as I undock, I hear BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM "The Argon government now has no choice but to retaliate..." (or words to that effect). NOT GOOD for someone who was once at the highest possible rank with the Argon....

      4. This is the good news.... even though every station in the sector is red, I never saw any actual hostile ships coming after us, even despite the number of attempts it took to pick up the space suits. So relax, take your time, and do it right. I was in panic mode, but I don't think there's anything to actually worry about. (I could be wrong about this part... to be honest, I wasn't paying much attention to the gravidar.. I was just trying to nab those suits!)

      Good luck!

      Smile

lol...you 2 have no idea as to jus how hard im laughing

i actually skipped the cutscene lol
the terran mission where you escort stuff to venus has me scared cause the damn carrier kept spawning close enough to fire at me

"the normal method of freight pickup (aim at the crate and fly straight into it)"

i think it uses the docking method instead of freight method for people..as i can go whatever speed i want for normal freight (although goin ~600 m/s and tryin to pickup a lil box is near impossible)=p

hehe and if i knew i coulda used whatever ship i wanted..i woulda brought my cerberus =p instead i played along and went in a freighter with 200 whateveritwas (having your own forge(s) helps alot here lol)

also...how did you get enough rep for the panther?
ive camped this xenon gate that leads to a split sector for hours shooting down every enemy that came out (except the few times where they got mad and sent ~3 destroyers (or carriers) and like 4 - 7(depending on carrier or destroyer) pages of fighters and drove me out =p) and they wont even let me buy their m3 yet lol

You're doing it the hard way. Rep is really easy to get if you just do missions. I think I'm close to max rank with all the races, and all I ever really do is station-building missions. Lately I've also been doing "taxi" missions in my Kestrel in Terran space. You can't use a jump drive anyway (without using an exploit), so you might as well use a Kestrel with a life support system. One woman gave me 10 minutes to get her to a station 3 sectors away, and I got her there in 5.

Seriously, if you want to buy a Panther, you can get one this afternoon. Just start accepting missions in Split territory (and make sure the person giving you the mission is actually a Split), and make sure you don't fail any of them. Races REALLY don't like it when you fail a mission... if you succeed, though, the rep comes in really quickly. Even at the higher ranks, a single successful mission will bump your rep up 20 or 30% of that level. It's really almost too easy (and I LIKE my video games to be easy).

In my experience, the easiest missions are "taxi" missions and station-building missions. Helps to have your own TL, of course, because you can jump it around, and it goes MUCH faster than hiring one. In fact, I've gotten 2 different build missions at the same time to build stations in the same sector with the same race's factories... jumped the TL to the race's shipyard, bought both stations, jumped him to the target sector, and dropped them both (making sure I put them on the correct beacons, of course!)

Defending stations and doing "1 sector" patrols are also both easy. I keep a Viper on standby for those, because it makes it easy to knock out any cap ships that show up to party.

Oh, another kind of mission that can be really easy is the "ship recovery" mission, BUT always save your game first, because they can actually be fairly impossible (like being asked to retrieve an M6 with 30% hull in Terran space, where even a jump drive won't help you... that happened to me!!) Also, pay attention, because sometimes they will say, "It's getting further away all the time!" That means that someone is actually FLYING the ship you need to recover, which means you have to attack and force him to bail WITHOUT destroying the ship. Tricky. (Especially in a Cerberus, LOL)

Oh, and sometimes they ask you to BUY them a ship. If they want an M4 or an M5 and there's a shipyard within 3 or 4 sectors, take it... all you have to do is pull up your universe map, go to the sector with the shipyard, go to the buy menu, buy the ship, upgrade the engines, and then command it to fly to the station that gave you the mission. It takes a few seconds, and you don't even have to move.

Missions that I do NOT bother with:

cargo missions (i.e., bring me one million Ore in the next 6 minutes)
      assassination
convoy attack (bad for race relations)
follow the target and learn his secrets
      multi-sector patrols (too time-consuming)

... and whatever other kinds there are. I just do the ones I know are easy. Good luck... I know you will soon be the greatest hero the Split have ever known!

"Look! It's the Honored Taxi Driver of Rhonkar! Sell that man a battleship!!"
