      Unhappy Silicone Miner now bankrupt... Help

      Now we all know about the economic crisis thats hit the world, and it would seem to me that starting off, TC is no different for the assirering trader at the beggining of the game, now in R my starting strat would be 2 to 3 Ecell runs then after that Silicone runs till i can aford my first station, as the magin for profit in game is almost 3 time its lowest value if your timing was right, and for that i love mining (in real life as well. i know this would sound a little sad but i have a small collectin of rock that i keep as they look nice lol) and i would still keep that ethos as the main stay on the company i would found in the game....

      Now... TC is a different story, and one that saddens me, as when you start at the beggining of the game, i do my ecell run, then i buy as i would do normaly a load of silicone, but looking around there's nowhere to get shot of it, of atleast for a desent amount... and whats worse is that once iv finaly got the load gone, and i think i need to rethink things and start looking around for other loop hols in the economy, all i can find within the local area is ecell... which to me bores me as you can only make like 20ishK per run when i could of made over 100k per run of silicone....

      in my current game iv spent like 4 hours just trying to find a buyer and tryin to find a new loop, which to me is time i would of spent in R buying a new frieghter or station and making a mint... now the only thing iv found so far that is of any use is in telidi space, but im still barely scratching a living.... in my rust bucket of a starter ship i call The Brick...

      So dose anyone know of trade runs that and alwaysish kinda (like i know stuff changes over time) there like shore fire 200% pluss profitss... or are they planning on killing that part of the game?? (iv got TC version 2.0)

      please can anyone help?? plus if the economy is going to be like this what would be good for the first station placement???

      I found that a sat plant in a core sector is a good little earner as a first station. Not huge profits, but constant.

      Also a teladianium fab in Teladi space works well.

      In my game works an Ore Mine in Aladnas Hill since 5 ingame days and I get slowly but constantly money

      ok thats cool but is there something im missing in the local argon areas?? as why would Egosoft make it so that there is nothing of any true true value at your starting point???

      The problem is ES focussed on missions for earning cash, so the economy isn't as 'broken' as it used to be in X3R, so it's harder to lead the life of a trader in TC by exploiting the gaps left by missing stations.

      Plus all the extra traders from the new company system do a fairly good job of keeping fabs supplied in TC, which in turn also makes it harder for you to find places low on resources.

      this is not good news..... so not only do i have to suck on the dissapirence of ST's and UT's, a fidily GUI (where as in R it was two close clicks to do most things and it wasnt large or filled the screen) and mildly annoying movment methods (think Dark Star One! why the hell did egosoft nick that one for? it may of worked for DSO but thats cos it wasn't that indepth, but with X3 thats something else) all in all this is making me wonder why i should stay with TC, as i love trading the hell out of everything, i dont just want a mission oreantated game... which TC looks like its become... i just want to go grrr! however i do like all the added bits which i wish R had... but its like egosoft desided to go "oh well it may of worked in R but hay lets change it so it dosent" .... this is why i like XTM, its R but with the extra bit of TC...

      anyhow, im not quitin TC just yet... please anyone help... and sorry for the rant... lol

      i know, and thats what i mean... aftar 3 ecell runs right at the start of the game (i got away with just one once) then you need to brewden out, and thats why i turned to silicone... so to refine my question, with the trader start in harrons neb, and iv done tho's ecell runs what else is there close that i could do?? cos with margins as tight as they are in tc at the mo its left a sad teast in my mouth


      IT's like the media reminds us about this globle resetion every day.... why do owr games have to aswell??! lol

      I have an ore mine there, too. I order my supply TS to buy e-cells cheap and sell the ore to the weapon fabs nearby at high prices. It also works with NPCs buying there, but when I actively sell the Ore, I get better prices. +When they are well supplied, you can actually buy guns and shields around there.

      Anyway, that's not exactly what you asked for. I usually don't do manual trading, so I can't really tell you what works in Argon core sectors.

      Some things that worked for me:
      - ST in Queen's Space - maybe also good for manual trading?
      - Own silicon mine in Antigone Memorial (was in X3:R though)
      - In Blue Profit there was huge demand for sunflowers (don't remember the English name of the ware, it's the stuff they make oil of) But that was also in X3:R.

      I don't play Real Life. The balancing sucks.

      a 1MJ Shield factory or 3 in Argon Prime still does very well...
