Default So how does the apology thing work??

You take a mission and wind up wacking some freighters that belong to a friendly nation (well at $1 M a pop it's hard not to wack them). The local police come out and start firing at you.
You comm them, speak to the captain and apologize. And ..... that's it! They stop firing at you.

OK then. We're all good right????

So how does this affect your race standings and what if you don't apologize??? Do they cool off and forget, or do they remember and chase you???

      Thanks.

If you don't apologize or they don't accept it the police foces of this sector will hunt you untill one of you is dead. But if you hunt them down your race rank will even more decrease. Once a Split dragon was mad at me for over two in-game weeks. I suggest to always apologize if possible. Like in RealLife words don't cost anything...

      Thanks for the fast reply.

Do you have any idea how much a hit your rep takes for this?

Can you do it 2 or 3 times before you lose a level of rep?? Or do you have to be extremely careful about the whole thing??

If you don't destroy the ship it happens not much. And if the ship get destroyed in a Xenon Sector nothing... <

If you destroy the ship very fast you loose not so much rep as if you make it over a longer time and you loose rep for every ship you destroy

      Danke Kozaki.

Which ship do you mean. The freighter you shoot or the police that chases you?

Repairing minor rep damage is pretty easy, it is when your rep crashes you have to act fast.

I got a combat mission from Strong Arm Trading to take out someone who had been annoying them, turned out they were a regular Split in an M2 with escorts, in a Split controlled sector, but it kicked off the Strong Arm Trading series for me so pretty much had to do it and get it over with.

My reputation tumbled to almost nothing, I couldn't pay a split to talk to me, and an entire trade route through split space was destroyed by Split military. When it gets this low appologising just does not cut it.

I had to try and track down Split's offering missions out of "friendly" sectors to slowly bump my rep back up (after of course stopping all my frieghters who were going through Split space). The South gate of Heretics End I found good for this, a Terran Sector with some nutral stations at the end.

Once I had got my rep up a few points I could venture back in to Split space without immediately being targetted for death by every Split ship in range. Once you get your rep back to that stage it is easy to start taking Split missions in Split sectors again to quickly get your rep back to what it was.

Combat missions, particularly protect ones, appear to me to give you the most rep, particularly if you get the police license. Having that makes things easier on the rep side, a bit harder to loose rep and a bit easier to gain it I find.

Once your rep is on the up check to see if any ships are still red and appologise to them, if they will not accept geet out and increase your race rep some more.

      Hope that helps,
